10+ Sites Suddenly Dropped in GSC, What Gives? I have 10 - 20 sites that would rank on Page 4 - 6, not the best, but hey. The sites are approximately 1 month old. Upon launch and importing to GSC, they were ranking pages 4-6. Now, this week all of a sudden, I am either 1) not ranking or 2) ranking in page 9-10. No major changes or updates. The impressions were about 1k daily across domains but now they're basically 0. Someone suggested working on Topical Authority, however, I was ranking on pages 4-6 upon launch... 4 0 replies
My website was hit very hard by the December 2024 spam update (or was it not?) I've been building a project that answers questions about Islam for almost a year now, and I'm constantly developing it to add things, remove things and optimize things - both content and HTML structure. My goal was to drive traffic mostly through Google Search, and it had been working as intended until December of last year. The fact that I'm always changing things made it very difficult for me to identify the source of the sudden drop in impressions on December 20 of last year after they were building... 2 2 replies

Does an H5 header just below h1 affect my SEO? The website I'm responsible for has a form to sign up for a newsletter that uses an h5 tag right below the H1 and opening paragraph. I pay a lot of attention to SEO in the articles I write, but am wondering if this out of order H5 will affect how Google sees my content. Is it worth debating that we should remove the form? 2 2 replies
Reddit beats any Keyword Research Tool When working with niche SAAS Products, it is difficult to figure out a content strategy because there is a lack of data on tools. I have personally spent hours looking at GSC, Ahrefs, and Semrush for topic research and to find low-competition relevant keywords for various clients. But at the same time if you make one simple search using the site operator on Google, `“site: reddit. com [your topic of interest]`" You immediately have a bunch of discussion threads around your topic. This has worked great for all the... 5 1 replies

SEO + Fact Checking? Hi everyone! I'm a content writer for a book publishing company and just recently I've been trying to learn some SEO on my own. I mostly work on school manuals and travel or museums guides in my current job, so there is no need for SEO there. Lately I applied for a Fact Checking role at a digital media company — think something like Buzzfeed. I thought my skills could be useful since I know how to produce concise, informative texts. However I did not get an interview after... 4 1 replies

Anybody else seeing drops starting around Jan 20th? I've been seeing it on a couple different clients of mine. They're both eCommerce businesses on Shopify. They operate in completely different markets/countries, and I thought it was maybe some kind of silent link penalty thing for one of them because we've been kind of aggressive, but then I noticed the same exact trend on the other who has a 100% natural backlink profile and where we haven't even worked with them long enough to have built a single link. In both cases, they started a downward trend around... 5 0 replies
Pregnancy As "Personal Hardship" In Google Merchant Centre | Changes Coming Google has long flagged pregnancy related offerings as "Personal Hardships in personalized advertising". This leads to lower visibility in shopping searches, challenges with re-targeting, and a host of other performance issues. * **Have you every solved this issue?** * **Do you see this changing in the near future?** I'd love your thoughts on how you optimize and solve for "pregnancy" as a product category in fashion and category specific products (breast pumps, formula, etc.). 1 0 replies
Wordpress site incompatible with theme update I made a mistake by trusting a Wordpress maintenance company run our website’s updates since 2021. Including theme updates. I sent them the 2025 theme update files and they responded saying it was completed. A week later, I realized I couldn’t edit theme settings at all. I reach out to them and find out that the theme update was actually never completed. They said it is incompatible bc it has been too long since the last update. Turns out, they never updated it over the years. They recommended their... 4 0 replies
If a post relates loosely to its category, does that harm SEO? My posts are somewhat adjacent to the category they’re assigned to, but a more accurate category name would obviously be better. For now, I’m grouping semi-unrelated posts under the existing category until I have enough content to create a separate one. Is this a bad strategy? 4 3 replies
Any tools for fully automating SEO research (and possibly even implementing it)? Hey folks, I'm looking for any tools that could potentially automate SEO research and implementation (as in generating articles, etc.) - obviously AI stuff. I don't know much about SEO and I have other things on my plate like cold outreach (sales), and other mktg activities. Why not agency? budget. 3 0 replies

US/UK English SEO Dilemma Hey all, I'm facing an SEO challenge and wondering how you experienced folks handle it: targeting both US and UK English speakers in the same country when it comes to keyword spelling. It's driving me a bit crazy! The specific example that's got me thinking is the words "customized" vs. "customised" and let's say there is a similarity in the search volume. This applies to other words too. My question is, what's the best practice for SEO when these spelling variations come into play, specifically for: URLs: Do you... 3 4 replies
Has Google Lost the Beauty of the Old Search Engine? For the last 2–3 days, many people and SEO professionals have been trying to stay hopeful by tweeting that their HCU-hit websites have fully recovered. But I think they are only seeing **impressions** on Google Search Console data. The reality is that none of them have regained their pre-HCU traffic, according to Google Analytics (organic data). This means that even if your website is getting more impressions on Google Search, you are not receiving the same **CTR** as before. The reason behind this is that a large number of... 5 3 replies
