Well whenever someone's (specially a girl) talking about a problem, you should be ideally listening to them 90% of the time and giving solution for 10% of the times.

Most of the time when someone complains, they are not looking for any solution. They are just overwhelmed with emotions and they want to just get those emotions out of their system. Usually people know the solution to their problems.

You can give solutions once you're sure that they are done with their emotions and now need some perspective.

All you need to do is just listen, acknowledge her emotions. And agree on the aspects on which you want to agree. It's obviously difficult to cutoff people at workplace. What she actually means by emotional support here is just listen about how she felt, give your viewpoint with some reasoning why those people are wrong (only if you feel so).Obviously you can't deep dive and kinda revisit all the scenarios with her to make her feel better, but just show your stance if something you too feel is wrong. I know it sounds like a mental professionals job, just stick to not shunning how she feels first.
