  1. Is Sania Mirza the most under-appreciated Indian?

    over 1 year
OP, we Indians have a bad habit of not following the saying of "minding our own business". I remember Sania was brutally thrashed and was called names after she had married a Pakistani sportsperson. It's her personal life, but still Indians literally assassinated her character at that time. She even cried during an interview saying how much I gave to this nation just to be called names by the people of my own country.

The thing is that us Indians are hard wired to indulge in the personal lives of the celebrities, assuming it as our moral duty to lecture others, especially celebs.

Same we did with Saif Ali Khan when he named his kid taimur, same was with SRK when he had a son through surrogacy, same moral policing when some known person confesses about his or her gender preference. And it's not even an Indian thing, our whole subcontinent is filled with such people. Their own lives are mediocre but they indulge in not so important stuff much more than they should.

What do you mean? She was extremely popular and highly appreciated in India during her tennis career.

But then she married Shoaib Malik- a Pakistani cricket player. This was not seen favorably by Indians. She then left India and moved to Dubai to live with her husband.

Once she was out of sight, she was out of mind. And more so because of marrying someone from the neighboring country that we have always had a rivalry with.

Even other celebrities who left India lost their popularity once they left India, unless they visited back or did work that we saw.

Even Madhuri Dixit’s popularity was low when she moved to the US. She got back and then we started seeing her at events and her popularity rose back. Plus, there was no reason to dislike her for her choice in marriage.

  6. What do girls mean by i only want emotional support and not Solutions.

Next time ask her whether she needs your advice/ suggestion or will listening to her can help healing her hurt feelings. At the same time, take care of yourself too while listening to her. It must not be mentally draining for you as well. Follow the middle path and remember no relationship is above mental health and peace.

They want you to listen to whatever they are feeling irrespective of what it is and then listen and support them, it may be correct or wrong but just listen, nod along, and just exist there.

The implied idea is they will stumble upon their solution themselves in due time while you just exist and nod along.

If this sounds somewhat stupid, it is. Is this what they want? Also yes.
