Google Local Reviews Decreasing Over Past 24 Hours >I am seeing a ton of complaints in the Google Business Profiles forums about reviews going missing. A lot of people are saying the review counts have dropped from one number to a lower number. >I am seeing dozens and dozens of complaints in the forums over the past day or so. >Vinay Toshniwal, a Google Product expert, wrote in this thread, "Google has been actively removing reviews globally, likely due to non-compliance with their guidelines. How to format the H1 Tag for the homepage I've been running the code below in my header.php for years, on a Wordpress website. But I'm wondering if it's still valid in 2025. I do have the Yoast SEO which also sets a title for the page and description, but I'm also interested if the H1 tag should contain the same tagline as entered in Yoast Settings or any other SEO tool. Thank you! <div class="brand"> <?php if ( is_home() ) : ?> <h1 class="site"><a title="<?php bloginfo( 'name' ); ?>" href="<?php bloginfo( 'url' ); ?>"> Title<span>Tagline</span> </a></h1> <?php... 5 1 replies
How to become a gigabrain using SEO data I've been trying to figure this one out for awhile. So some people notice the 'idiocracy movie effect' worse than others. So, I spent some time thinking about how that works, and obviously there's a push and pull mechanic occuring there. Where, the information demands for the younger generations seems lower, but at the same time, I personally keep learning more and more. Then, my point of reference never changes, I'm still falsly comparing myself as I get older to 18 year olds. Recently, the effect has gotten ultra... 4 0 replies
Non-expert sharing results! Hey! My husband and I run a small video production business (just the two of us) and I wanted to share how stoked I am with my research and implementation of best SEO practices. I'm in no way an expert, I really have just learned a lot from this sub and random stuff I've found online. With our business, sometimes we're pretty busy and some days we're a little slower. I used to get really upset when we were slow but since last April whenever we've had a moment... 5 5 replies
Fluctuations in SERP Rankings! But why? Last month, I started a campaign on a blog post targeting a medium keyword difficulty. After two weeks, it began to rank but was positioned at 19 on the second page. After four weeks, it moved to the first page, reaching the 6th position. However, it has now slipped back down to the second page. In addition, I have been building links, focusing on the main anchor text and acquiring high Domain Rating (DR) links, but I'm still in the process of doing this. Throughout the campaign, I chose... 4 2 replies

Ahrefs, Robots.txt and Hard down in Google Hello People, I hope anyone could help me : For two months, I spend few hours per week to build a little lifestyle blog (40 articles). No AI, no Ads, no affiliate link, no duplicate content, no stealing, and I have a good exp and level in web/SEO in general. Location pages for law firms How is everyone making bulk location pages? Let’s say you offer 10 different services and want to target 5-10 different cities. Thats 50- 100 location pages. I see all the big firms are doing this but they all have high budgets and don’t mind paying 10k plus for writers. Writing them yourself would take forever, do you hire a writer, service, utilize AI?! 2 2 replies
Permalink structure guidance My blog has been up for 14 years now, does well on Google searches, and my SEO performs well. Unfortunately when I set my permalink structure, I did year, month, blog name. I’ve been thinking about changing it to remove year and month to improve my SEO. I’ve read that it could cause a lot of damage to my SEO in the short term. Since it’s been 14 years for me, do you think it’s worth it to change my permalink structure or just roll with it now? 1 0 replies

Site will not seem to rank I have a pretty new site - domain is 4 months old and site is 2 months - that, will not rank for some fairly general terms such as "software for <type of business>" where the type of business is a fairly niche business. I have done some SEO and getting sites to rank before and it normally took about a month to start getting a slow trickle of traffic. So far I've focused on, on-page SEO (meta description, keywords, page structure, etc) and have written a bunch of... 4 4 replies
How long do blogs on Medium take to get indexed? I've posted around 7-8 blogs on Medium and am considering interlinking them while also linking back to my site. Content Layout Shift GSC reports that I have an issue with Content Layout Shift, and there is indeed a problem caused by Auto Ads from AdSense—the content shifts after AdSense loads. Home page - site map - shopify My home page is not being found in Google Search Console from my site map. My homepage is indexed but it is found from other pages on my website. I contacted Shopify support. My home page is not listed on the pages section of my sitemap but under the products section. I asked Shopify to move it to the pages section so it could be found by Google directly rather than from other pages. Shopify says that it is perfectly normal for my homepage to be under the products... 4 1 replies
Simplified vs traditional Mandarin (identical meaning but different characters) as keyword? My post is a guide to Malaysian visa categories. For one category, I used **经济特区(SEZ)** in **Simplified Mandarin**. However, in Google Search Console, I see it's ranking (poorly) for **mm2h經濟特區**, which is in **Traditional Mandarin**. Both terms mean the same thing. The key difference is: * **Traditional Mandarin** is more popular among people from China. * **Simplified Mandarin** is more commonly used in Malaysia. Since my post is targeting foreigners, I’m wondering if switching just this specific term to **Traditional Mandarin** (while the rest of the post stays simplified)... 2 0 replies
