Best places to find independent SEO specalists?

Hey guys, Long story short I have been with an agency for about 9 months and have been pretty dissatisfied with the results and the communication. From my experience most agencies play a numbers game and will do the least work possible to maintain a contract and will continuously use impossible to verify excused i.e google updates (which is legitimate obviously but as a client its really hard to know for sure) I'm really sick of feeling lost in the weeds, so I want to find an independent SEO...

Help needed - lots of traffic but no ranking on SEO

Hey! I run a jobs website with horrendous Google ranking - like it’s really f*king bad. I get most my traffic through non-SEO ways, but I need to get my Google rank up. I’m now veering into the world of finding semi-credible (if there’s such a thing) of link buying to rank higher. Recovery? New Google Update?

Last Update from August 2024 crashed my traffic of a blog from 2k visitors daily to 20 (yes, twenty) clicks a day. But since 3rd of Feb it is increasing again (300 daily atm), new and more keyword rankings and more and more Top 10 Keywords. Anyone seeing similar changes?

Rankings keep fluctuating #3 to #7

Hello, I’m writing to ask if anyone has any insight about why my ranking for a major keyword flip flops between 3 & 7, used to be constantly at 3 but since I updated my shopify theme few months back, it seems like Google can’t make up its mind about what position I rank for. I’m currently working on optimizing load speed and checking other core metrics, I believe my biggest hurdle is the heavy JS loading I have on this new theme that’s slowing it down.

At this point in 2025 what are the main factors for Google’s organic rankings? Do backlinks not matter anymore? Are they taking GMB score and # of reviews into consideration? Does directory listings hold any real value? Obviously if 1 site has them and another site doesn’t it does. Also yes consistency matters. Platforms for SEO Recommended Fixes

I use SEMRush, but the Audit has been missing a number of non-technical issues that impact SEO (like having a page live without an H1 tag). My concern is SEMRush seems decent for seeing technical issues, tracking ranking, or even content development - but I haven't found anywhere where it lists what should get done for SEO. Is there a tool that does this? Search Atlas (without OTTO) does seem to do some of this. But seems unable to provide the ranking reporting that I definitely need to provide...

"Google" Search Term Interest Declines to Its 2010 Level

I randomly checked the worldwide search interest for the term "Google" and noticed a declining trend. The graph indicates that search interest is approaching its lowest level since 2004. In fact, it has already dropped to the same low point seen in 2010. Despite the growing number of new users, devices, and search queries, Google appears to be losing its popularity among users. I assume I'd find some true SEO demons in here. I'd like to know how many of you truly believe that having a meta-description for Shopify product with over 160 characters is going to be penalized by Google. How true is this? I am not sure.
