US/UK English SEO Dilemma
Hey all, I'm facing an SEO challenge and wondering how you experienced folks handle it: targeting both US and UK English speakers in the same country when it comes to keyword spelling. It's driving me a bit crazy! The specific example that's got me thinking is the words "customized" vs. "customised" and let's say there is a similarity in the search volume. This applies to other words too. My question is, what's the best practice for SEO when these spelling variations come into play, specifically for: URLs: Do you choose one spelling (US or UK) for URLs and stick with it? Or try to incorporate both somehow (which feels messy and potentially confusing)? For example: com/customized-products vs. com/customised-products - Choosing one feels like I'm potentially missing out on searches from the other community, or should I do a long one like com/customized-products-customised-products? Page Titles (Title Tags): Similar to URLs. Content itself: I'm assuming within the main body content of the page, it's best to stick to either US or UK English consistently for readability and brand voice. But what about strategically using both variations subtly if it makes sense? Anyone else tackled this and found a good strategy? What are your best practices and recommendations when dealing with US vs. UK English spelling variations for SEO? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!3
