SEO + Fact Checking?
Hi everyone! I'm a content writer for a book publishing company and just recently I've been trying to learn some SEO on my own. I mostly work on school manuals and travel or museums guides in my current job, so there is no need for SEO there. Lately I applied for a Fact Checking role at a digital media company — think something like Buzzfeed. I thought my skills could be useful since I know how to produce concise, informative texts. However I did not get an interview after completing the assessment task. I also did not get any feedback :( I am not frustrated and actually did not expect to get the job, but I do wish I could understand what I did wrong in order to grow. Looking back, I think I tried too hard to verify the veracity of the facts and did not pay attention to creating a SEO friendly text. But in my head SEO and Fact Checking are two different disciplines and I really wasn't thinking of it when writing. Or rather, by making sure the information is trustworthy, you are already doing SEO. That's what I thought. If any of you could give me an insight on how these two disciplines are related it would be much appreciated :) For context, the articles I was supposed to fact-check were in the line of "10 Reasons Why Coffee Is Good for You". Thank you!4
