Dumb terminal question !

I've installed [this](https://christitus.com/mybash/) .bashrc script on my linux machines and I really like it but when I ssh from my mac it looks terrible. Now I've try multiple text encoding but still, without success reproducing what I get on my local linux consoles. Connect drives disappear and only reappear after restart since 15.3 update

Hi All. Not sure if anyone else was experiencing this. I have three seagate drives connected to my Intel iMac, 2020. They are always connected. However, since 15.3 they disappear after a few minutes. They do not show up to be remounted in Disk Utility. They are just gone. Turning their dedicated surge protector on/off does nothing. Unplugging/replugging their USB cables does nothing. I replaced the hub they are all connected to. Nothing. Only a restart can bring them back. But that leaves me restarting 4 or 5 times...

Macbook wakes up from sleep everytime i receive a call . How to stop this ?

Basically, the title says it all—every time I get a call, my MacBook wakes up from sleep. How can I stop this? I find the feature really useful when I’m actively working on my laptop, but when I’m at home and my Mac keeps waking up with every call, it drives me crazy.

Anybody have a kvm/dock solution for 2 external monitors and easy switching between an M1 Macbook and a PC?

Basically title. I have 2 monitors, an M1 Macbook, and a PC. I bought [this KVM](https://a.co/d/4lUleY2) switch recently which takes in HDMIs from both the Macbook and the PC and then I'm able to push a button on the KVM to switch which the displays get input from. Siri activation sounds changed... today! Anyone else notice?

has anyone noticed that from one day to the next Siri's activation sound changed on Macos? I'm on Sequoia 15.2 on a M1 Pro with Apple Intelligence swtiched on. Nothing's changed in the last 48 hours (updates etc). The acivation sound used to be a more natural "um" or "uh huh". And now is a kind of "tone". Anyone else seeing this?

Apple Remote Desktop "Verify failed"

I was stupid enough to buy Remote Desktop. I keep getting "Verify failed", I tried uppercase, lowercase. I tried the password I use to log in on the machine. I tried the password that I had set for remote desktop and so on. Does apple even still care at this point? MacBook Pro m3 started heating

Since January MacBook Pro m3 started heating up while the lid is closed. It’s always between 2 pm and 6 pm. I did everything including reinstalling the system. I’m certain it’s Mac OS problem. The temperature is like 70 C (158 F). Anyone else Mac started behaving like that for the past month?

App running slow, checked ram... not sure??

Hi, I am wondering if you may be able to help me with this... Currently I am editing a video on CapCut, downloaded for Mac. Yet, due to the amount of video, effects etc being used CapCut is running really slow, to the point it won't even playback the video with settings such as proxy media, and low quality playback enabled. My tv seems to only read ms dos ex fat. When I try and upload files bigger than 3gb. My mac says its too large. Ive tried formatting numerous other ways and the tv will not read the stick. Any advice?

Forgot Admin Password - Stuck on Activate Mac (Admin) - Apple Silicon M2

An employee at our business forgot his password on his Mac... He is the Admin User on the machine. We tried using resetpassword in recovery utility. It's a MacBook Pro M2 After restarting the Mac, I am presented with "Activate Mac" - "select a user you know the password for", NOT ACTIVATION LOCK, it asks for that user Admin Password. How do I print to PDF?

New Mac user from Windows here. I'm trying to print webpages to PDF in Firefox. When I do, they save as PDFs, but the file size is 0 bytes and the file can't be opened. The same happened with Safari using Print. I tried to install PDFwriter, which added a PDF printer, but ultimately it didn't work. What am I doing wrong? I assume, like on iPhone, that Safari has an option to save a webpage as a PDF, but I use Firefox. Surely there's a way to do...

Application's seems to have calculated space used wrong, 100GB missing

I went into my applications folder and it said I've used approx. 188GB, but after calculating the top 10 files (mostly Steam games) they only attribute to approx. 82GB so I seem to have a mystery 100GB missing from what my Applications folder says I have. I've tried to do some internet searching and went onto Finder-Go-Macintosh HD and have managed to make it show me that the 188GB is on users-\[myname\], but when I go on \[myname\] and start making it calculate the sizes all of the files...

What is replacement program for Disk Utility to scan mechanical drive and give s.m.a.r.t reading? Main reason is to scan hard drive I have so I can pass data to it. I don't trust Disk Utility I come from Linux and Windows. There lot of info like for example WD Lifegate when scanning it show what sector it's checking and much more other info like smart reading. Apple should allow the restoring of macOS using an iPhone.

Title says it all, this would be a good feature for people who do inevitably mess up their Mac partitions to where it won't even boot and goes to a DFU screen. Why? The last time this happend, I needed to pull out an entire other Macbook to restore it. Dear community, I have a 2015 MacBook Pro that suddenly slows down so tremendously that it is barely usable anymore. Each mouse hover or click can use 15 up to 120 seconds to do anything.
