Bangalore Briyanis becoming very stale in evening

It's just me or the Bangalore Briyanis have started tasting worse in the evenings. They taste so stale and even bitter at times. Don't they break a new dum in the evening? It's so disappointing to the point that I have stopped ordering briyani at night and have sticked to ordering them in noon only. Your thoughts? Any briyani that you tried at night and it was fresh?

    Bangalore heals my mental health.

Dear Bangalore, thank you for being so frickin' amazing. I moved to this city about 10 years ago, and have called it home ever since. I've traveled to several countries and lived in many cities within India, but nothing comes to the *peace* I feel when I'm here. This present weather amplifies this feeling, and I'm writing my heart out here. I live on the outskirts of the city and work from home. Yeah, that's also the reason why I'm so happy (sorry, office-goers who have to face the...

A Cautionary Tale from KIA Airport Pickup

Yesterday, I went with my brother to pick up a relative from KIA airport. Their flight, originally scheduled to land at 11 PM, was delayed by 1.5 hours. With time to kill, we decided to wait at a spot just before the final turn to the airport (coordinates: 5MPJ+R2Q). To pass the time, we crossed the road, grabbed some tea and snacks, and returned to the car to wait. Finally, we got the confirmation that the flight had landed. We started the car to head to the terminal but...

Controversial Take: Bangalore's tolerance needs to go

**If you don't have proper parking, maybe you shouldn’t own a car in Bangalore.** if you don’t have a designated parking spot, your car isn’t your personal street hog. Street parking isn’t your own parking lot. It clogs up narrow roads, and when you park on footpaths, you end up ruining them and putting pedestrians at risk. Get a proper parking spot or maybe think twice about owning one. **Food carts: A nuisance on our streets.** Food carts are bad for us. They arent inspected for health violations. They...

My Experience Getting a Driving License at Krishnarajapura RTO (KA-53): Bribes

TLDR; Applied for a driving license at Krishnarajapura RTO (KA-53). First attempt in November failed due to an impossible test setup in an underground parking lot. On my second attempt in December, I realized the proper open-ground tests were reserved for driving school applicants. Gave in to the system, paid a ₹1,500 bribe via a printing shop contact, and was allowed to give the test as a formality in the open ground. Finally got my license in January. Frustrating experience with inefficiency and bribery. Story: Last year, around October,...

Terrible Experience with Home Lane - Extremely Disappointed

I recently hired Home Lane to handle the interior design of my new home, and I am beyond dissatisfied with the outcome. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of frustrating. Poor Communication & Subpar Quality of Work. I regret ever choosing Home Lane and would highly recommend looking elsewhere for any home interior needs. The lack of professionalism and quality work has been a huge disappointment.

    Chicken prices are damn low

I used to buy chicken for 260rs/kg before my vacation (went to hometown for a month) but when I returned I see chicken price is at the bottom -120/kg for live one where 30 egg tray costs me 158rs only. I never seen this low in recent years in Bangalore. Is there any bird flu or religious week going in specific to make these prices so low.( I stay near channasandra)

Wholesome experience at Basavanagudi - Vidyarthi Bhavan

I moved to Bangalore 6 months ago with my husband. We live in Hoodi, Whitefield (probably most of you here don't know this area), we decided to go to Vidyarthi Bhavan yesterday evening as it was wfh for both of us, we took metro, got down at national college and walked to Vidyarthi Bhavan. We reached Vidyarthi Bhavan around 7:50, they were already closing but we got in around 8:05 because we went there before closing with few of the other remaining people. Vidyarthi Bhavan has a shared table...

    Places for introverted people?

NOTE - I'm a woman asking a man out, so it's already a very stressful situation. i'm shy and introverted whereas he isn't. i do not want to look extra dumb so I want a date idea where it is okay even if there are long silences. Where can I ask him to come? Movie date is a good idea but i DO want to talk to him and not just watch movie for 2-3 hours, so it doesnt seem suitable. Any date ideas where we can walk and...

Landlord is building a cloud kitchen in the basement

So we had some construction happening in the basement of our standlone appartment building for a couple of days now and today i got confirmation from the landlord that they have turned that place i to a cloud kitchen. This is just a standalone appartment building with a bunch of flats with families and a few bachelors. We are 2 girls living alone here and the fact that there will be a lot of delivery persons hanging around the building and the parking is kinda freaking me out. So...
