No Bangalore District in Kaveri website while filling address for Marriage Certificate.

After you select state as Karnataka from the drop down, the district drop down gets populated. Only Bangalore Rural is in the list, Bangalore is not in the district list. This makes it impossible to apply for Marriage Certificate as I won't be able to provide the address. I want to provide Whitefield as my address. Anyone knows if this issue is temporary?

Do people ever cut their maid's salary?

Need to know because - I genuinely consider myself a fair person. I've helped her get her abha insurance, given her bonuses and things that she asks for. I don't mind giving leave when it's a couple of days. Its normal - everyone needs a break - but when she takes a break of 10 days - isnt a salary cut warranted? It's literally 1/3rd of the month. Why do I get the guilt trip of - oh no one else cut my salary, why did you cut it,...

Namma Metro and Its Dumb Timings Rules

This is the current timings of Metro * **Mondays**: The metro starts at 4:15 AM  * **Saturdays and public holidays**: The metro runs from 6 AM to 10:30 PM on the second and fourth Saturdays  * **Sundays**: The metro runs from 7 AM to 11 PM Why BMCRL is so conservative in operating metro from 05.00 AM to 11.30 PM everyday and adjust the Frequency of train during peak hours and other hours. 1.Late night Travelers find metro more safe than BMTC and opting for cabs 2. Early morning travelers who come...

Unspoken 'Toxic Culture' in Indian Corporates

Four years. Three unicorn startups. Multiple cities. And yet, here I am, sitting at my desk, wondering why *this* part of corporate life feels like navigating a maze blindfolded. Let me vent—because maybe I’m not alone? 1. “Hindi hai, bro? Cool, let’s switch.” Imagine walking into a meeting that starts with a polite “How’s your day?” in English, only for the next 30 minutes to dissolve into rapid-fire Hindi. Jokes fly, ideas bounce, and you’re just…nodding. Not because you agree, but because you’re lost. You’re South Indian, Northeast, or...

    Transferring/cancelling Gruha Jyoti electricity subsidy

Hello fellow bangaloreans. I'm shifting apartments next month and right now, in my current rental place, I've taken the gruha jyoti subsidy under my name so that I can save on electricity bills. But since I'm moving next month, and I can't find this answer online, I wanted to know if anyone has been successful in transferring or cancelling their subsidy. I've heard that you need to go to your local BESCOM office, but has anyone actually done this and if you have, could you let me know the...

Rash and negligent driving by Defender

I request mods to approve this post. I came across a post about a tragic accident on BTM Layout, Ring Road, which appears to be a hit-and-run. The crash involved an over speeding Range Rover Defender, which tragically resulted in the death of the two-wheeler rider on the spot. I’m sharing this because I'm a responsible citizen and the person that caused the death should face the consequences. I still don't see any news about this incident online and I hope to do my part by sharing it with...

Hello, Bengaluru! I recently met a patient outside my cult gym in Indiranagar 6th main road who’s battling critical heart conditions. He’s undergone multiple heart surgeries and is living with persistent symptoms, including: Swelling in his eyes, feet, and legs. Difficulty breathing and extreme fatigue. Frequent chest pain and dizziness. Signs of fluid retention and visible discoloration in certain areas of his body. What’s even more heartbreaking is that after one...

Someone threw a stone at me today, could have died

Happened in HSR layout today. Was walking by and was hit by a big chunk of solid mud ball. No construction site nearby and no accident. Hit me directly behind my right ear with massive force and now it's swollen and i feel slight block in that ear. Will go see a doctor in a while. I couldn't see who did it and people around me just walked past. Was clearly done with intent. Super strange and disappointing, as is the roads are broken and unwalkable. If stepping out...

We’re Getting Ripped Off—Paying High Taxes for Nothing But Sh*t Roads and Empty Promises!

Today, as I was driving my scooty, I came across a massive hole on the left side of the road. It was so big that I couldn’t help but notice it, yet everyone else just sped past it, myself included. But as I rode by, something inside me really struck a chord—why is it that no one seems to care? How is it possible that something so basic, like a road, can be left in such a terrible state? We pay taxes, don’t we? My dad, for example, pays...

I feel like crying- Bengaluru traffic rant

Bengaluru traffic is so damn frustrating guys. I have to be at work at 10 . I leave my home at 8, and it’s literally just 20 mins from home. Just scared of it being so unpredictable. I get so frustrated my eyes all red, annoyed. Used to love riding but now it’s just as a necessity. Really really rash North Indian drivers, literally drive in the centre of road really yanks me up so bad. Hosa road’s condition is too bad. Have to cover up with masks because...
