Hey everyone, I’m a day trader who primarily trades options using a 1-minute candle scalping strategy with a 1:3 risk-reward ratio. Lately, I’ve been facing a dilemma about setting a fixed number of trades per day. E*Trade sucks I sold 2 TNA put options strike at 54 . I am deep in the money so I got assigned. I am prepared for it. After assignment, my cost is 54 minuses premium collected, end result is I hold 200 shares with unrealized loss on the account depend on market price. However, E*Trade closed my options at that actual loss, then buy 200$ shares at current price. So they instantly created an actual loss right away which I don’t want yet. If the price consolidates a lot at a key level, what does that mean? If price consolidates at support/resistance or supply/demand, trend line etc. does that mean price probably will break it soon, or does that on the contrary make that zone even stronger? Any reason not to take advantage of extended hours (sell orders) and 24 hours (buy orders)? I believe a stock like FedEx will perform well in the near future. But in the very near future I see it dipping about 10%. I went to place a limit order on Robinhood and was surprised it let me select 24 hours for the limit order. It feels weird that there is even an option to still only do "market hours" or "extended hours" when you can simply click the 3rd option of 24 hours. Why wouldn't everyone do this with limit orders? Making profit day trading So I hear from alot of people day trading is a scam and you can't make money.
