    Trading or something?

Hi, I am just a beginner in trading and from what I have read and gathered is that I should first spend a good 6 months learning to trade and analyse charts and patterns to come up with strategies before actually beginning to start trading. On the other hand I think I could spend the same 6 months building a YouTube channel or a social media page untii I start making some returns. What are some of your suggestions and inputs from what you've learned from trading and what...

    Trading courses or self taught?

Hello people, with 2025 around the corner I’m sure many others would like to improve their trading skills. I’ve come across trading books, free YouTube videos (SMB capital/Mind math money) Schwab has free courses for beginners. Has anyone paid for a legit online trading course and not just a YouTube guru course? Anyone have a testimony on Ross Cameron Warrior trading Platform? Any recommendations are appreciated. Ty

    Swing trades are the way

I found the most success with swing trades. I started with mid cap shares, with basic information, mostly I’d just buy on Friday and usually sell on Wednesday. It was very easy and I was often consistently making money each week Then I purchased a trading course where I actually learned how to trade, and purchased good trading software. This year, I started with the ABC strategy.. I make really good money. I run a scan for patterns in the market and pick a stock and set a buy...

    Professional Gamblers

I know it's a common thing to say 'trading is just gambling' but even though thats meant as a criticism there's definitely people that make profit from both!. Just curious to know if anyone here has gone from a poker/sports betting/card counting background into trading? Or vice versa even? Obviously there's a lot of shared skills and mindset that are key to being successful in both, like being able to withstand large wins and losses and not get caught up emotionally.

Low volume but big red candle?

I had a question on volume. If there is a big red candle (larger than prior green candles), but the volume associated with that red candle is small, what does this mean? I can't wrap my head around that. I know from a TA perspective, price action is more meaningful when there is more volume associated. Could someone explain what it means when there is a big red candle but relatively small volume? Does this mean there were no buyers so price moved down to find buyer price with...

    Best way to learn? CTKS?

I've never been a trader and would like to learn. Where did you learn how to trade? I'm hoping to find something that has focused and concise info for the results of hopeful positive trading outcomes. A community would be nice as well as I'm a social person. Online is fine. Ideally can also have wins in any or most type of market conditions I've been following Ken Standfield from CTKS Any thoughts on him or other recommendations?

    Community of traders

Hey guys so a few members of us at r/pennystocks came together and made a discord as a place to centralize knowledge and help each other out, we currently have 175 members, it’s free to join, and have a lot of cool features with more on the way. Right now we’re building an ai bot to pick out calls people make through the week, compile them into a list with a short analysis, then allow you all to vote whether you’re bullish on them or not. We have channels...

How many broker accounts do you use?

I use Etrade and. Schwab but I'm sick of Schwab and willing to try something else while keeping Schwab for now. Is it ok if I have 3 broker accounts? Does that cause any issues other than tax return hassle?

    Shouldn’t Indicies be random?

I might be wrong but since the SP500 and NAS100 both measure a handful of companies, how can their price action be predicted in any way? Unlike stocks or other assets where price may have reacted from certain price levels, I can’t see how this is possible in indicies. Can anyone explain it?

Copy tradint slippage 17% - is it real?

So I'm using a copy trading for crypto and today got a strange situation: master trader opened position with entry price 23 USDT, while my position opened with 27 USDT. And I can't check copy trading settings, cuz they are forced to follow the master. So does it mean that slippage is 17%+? Is it even ok? Cuz I obviously have lost money on this position

    Those with proven successful strategy/strategies.

This post is specifically talking about ~chart patterns/price action/technical analysis etc.~ strategies rather than type of trading strategy (eg Day trading strategy, investing strategy or Swing trading strategy) What was your process of finding a successful strategy? What did you look for? Did you take market conditions into account? What was your criteria for finding another one? I'm currently stuck trying to find another strategy to add to my current one. It feels like I hit a hail marry rather than do proper analysis. It took me months to...

When a small fish eats an even smaller fish—what’s really going on here?

Hey folks, I stumbled upon this wild setup in the market and wanted to get your takes: So, Company A (a Chinese healthcare company listed on the US stock market) is trading at $8.5/share, with a market cap of $230M and 27M shares outstanding. They just announced they’re acquiring Company B (an insurance firm) via a stock issuance. Here’s where it gets spicy: ● Company A is issuing 70M new shares to make the deal happen. ● Post-acquisition, Company B will own 70% of Company A. ● For reference, Company B’s market...

    Quit because cant manage emotions

I (22F), decided to sell off all my positions and cash out a few days ago because I hit somewhat of an emotional rock bottom. I've come out of my trading journey profitable, but toward the final leg I ended up cutting some positions at losses and obviously a bit upset that I couldnt capture my entire uPnL (which I know is unlikely anyway)- if I had waited a couple more days I would've been at my goal. I stuck to my rules, never got greedy, everything was going...

Best Youtube Channels for Genuine Forex Trading Advice?

Hey, everyone! I’m looking to dive into forex trading, but I want to start on the right foot. Can anyone recommend YouTube channels that are genuinely helpful, focused on sharing pure knowledge, and don’t bombard you with the typical “I’m rich, follow me” gimmicks? I’m interested only with practical advice for a beginner trying to understand the fundamentals of trading. Would love to hear from anyone who’s been in the same boat and found resources they could truly vouch for. Thanks in advance!

Popular traders (YouTubers) that aren’t actually legit?

I’m trying to soak up all the free online resources that I can to learn the basics of trading because *holy SHIT* there’s so much to learn. I’ve been watching quite a few YouTubers who put out a lot of free game and some who sell courses. My question to everyone here is have yall watched anyone who seems legit but later turns out to be a fake? As in their advice isn’t genuine and courses are a scam? Edit: how did y’all learn to trade and what resources...
