The Northeastern people should be learning more about Mainland SEA history e.g. Nanzhao, Pagan, Mao Shan, Pyu states, Konbaung etc The mainland SEA states like Nanzhao, Pagan, Mao Shan, Pyu as well as Tibetan states like Qiang or even the Tangut state are extremely relevant to the origin, history and identity of Northeastern people. But we never learn of their history and instead study empires like Cholas or Vijayanagar etc. I doubt most school kids even know about the Burmese invasions which changed the fate and destiny of NE people. 5 1 replies
