It seems like this sub has had a large influx of normies I was just going through posts from 3-5 years ago and the posts/comments back then were a lot more relatable, honest, non generic and fitting. It seems like you can't be a NEET in your own sub without some dumb normie offering surface level advice nowadays. Brutal stuff 1 0 replies
31 year old (now 35) goes on a rant because someone supposedly told him to get a job. He’s obsessed with telling people he’s gonna do whatever he wants to do https://youtu.be/VIskWeNFjrY?si=1DyqHHEVxK2_9pDJ 5 0 replies
Suppose money wasn't a problem to you and your family and society didn't care about what you choose to do, would you continue living a neet life? Asking because I myself want to drop college and try to live more in solitude and quit the rat race,. I may(if everything goes right and the government approve it) be able to not worry much about money, but I worry about how family and society will judge me if I do it. The only job I consider now, is learning coding and web design, to create sites and earn money with clients. and the only graduation I consider doing for personal desire without considering the job aspect, is... 1 0 replies
I miss it It's been 2.5 months of working at a restaurant. I get along well with co-workers, I do my part and then try to recover for the next shift. I have cuts on my fingers, burns, and scars already. My back aches from having sometimes 11-hour shifts, my feet are sore. I am tired and live on auto-pilot. I don't know what's next or how long I'll be able to keep running this charade. I feel numb, I'm on anti-depressants and anxiety meds so those help me somewhat to cope.... 2 0 replies
Its not worth it It’s not worth it anymore. Maybe I’m just coping, but the more I think about it, the more it feels like getting a job is just some societal trap. I mean, how do you convince yourself that your entire purpose, the reason you exist, is to slave away for some money? It’s all just so hollow. Society makes sure you feel like absolute shit if you don’t participate in this endless grind. Somewhere along the line, we stopped putting faith in God or anything bigger than ourselves and replaced... 1 0 replies

Will get a job at a gas station Called them today, was called on a job interview, like 2 hours after it the lady called me and told me to bring my ID and bank number tomorrow and we'll sign the contract. I hope they will let me work asap because I need money to not be homeless. Anyone worked on a gas station? From what I've read on internet it's not a dream job but it can pass for a while. I'll be working 12 hour shifts 4 times a week. From 7 to 19 or... 1 0 replies
How do you ACTUALLY escape NEET I want to know who is and who is no longer NEET and then what you're idea and understanding of how someone is to escape being NEET. 4 0 replies
Why do so many NEETs believe they’re not smart? I lurk here often as a non NEET because in my life, I’ve resonated with a lot of the common feelings mentioned in this sub about hopelessness, lack of purpose, etc. (If this doesn’t apply to you in particular, that’s awesome.) But one thing I found interesting in particular is that so many NEETs say that they’re not intelligent, sometimes debilitatingly so. I live in one of the least educated parts of the US, and here a majority of people couldn’t pass an 8th grade math or spelling exam.... 3 0 replies
Anyone 30+ NEETS turn their life around? Has anyone here been NEET for the majority of their life and then around their 30s or later somehow changed their situation or is it more likely that once you hit your 30s you’re kinda stuck in the situation you’ve got? 1 0 replies
Anyone else talk to literally nobody? No irl friends anymore I've been left behind while they have all gone on to live normal lives. No online friends. I go sometimes months without a social interaction, only time I'll talk to somebody is when I go to a store. I hate it just more depression fuel. 2 0 replies

Is the governments take on having re-exam good? I have seen that government announced to have re-exam for NEET 2024, but is it good? Doesn't it disregards the hardwork of those who actually studied? 1 1 replies
