Recommendations for app that can automate find & replace steps? I'm working on a project where I need to take a lot of blocks of HTML text, and then convert them to Wordpress markup blocks so I can paste it into pages and have them all ready to go. Silly request: Any app that can control Caps Lock LED on Apple keyboards? I have a M2 Mac Mini paired with an Apple Wireless Keyboard. I just discovered that macOS can control the caps lock LED on the keyboard. To test it for yourself, put Caps Lock on, then go to a password entry field anywhere - in a browser or in System Preferences. There should be a little blue icon telling you Caps Lock is on. Time Machine Initial Backup Larger Than Hard Drive Size I am in the middle of an initial backup of a 2020 MacBook Pro. The hard drive is 1TB. There are 250GB free, so 750GB used, approximately. The backup is being done over WiFi. We are currently on Day 11. Time Machine status says it has completed 1.24TB so far, and it is still going. The computer is still running Mac OS 14. Apple TV not playing HDR content on my external monitor. Gonna be a weird one. So, I just got an HDR external monitor (AOC Q27G3XMN), and most of it works fine, except for HDR in Apple TV giving me same washed-out SDR look as the desktop. Now the issue isn't with the monitor. Duplicate External Hard Drive With Multiple Partitions I've been searching over a few days and can't seem to find a definitive answer. What I'm trying to do is duplicate an external HDD that contains multiple partitions. I have two identical 3TB HDDs. One (HDD A) is partitioned in this way: |Parition|Size| |:-:|:-:| |1|2TB| |2|500GB| |3|500GB| The other (HDD B) is blank and I'd make an exact copy of HDD A to HDD B. Sharing droplet apps across user accounts? I have a `VLC Droplet.app` that allows me to launch multiple VLC windows from Finder. Been working fine for years. Touch ID not working I have an older Intel iMac (not sure if that matters) and bought a newer keyboard with TouchID. My settings doesn't show TouchID options. I tried deleting some keyboard files from my preferences folder but it still doesn't work. Not sure what to do. 1 2 replies
Ethernet port test? I recently transferred a bunch of data between my windows computer and new macbook pro via directly connected ethernet, via a dock for the macbook pro. I've never used the direct ethernet before but all worked fine. BUT I noticed, on a few occasions, the macbook lost connection to the windows' shared drives and prompted to disconnect all. I assumed this was related to direct connection, or windows/mac being finnicky.. or whatever. However, now I'm starting to wonder/worry about the ethernet port potentially being faulty. Macbook Pro M2 to external monitor Guys, i have a problem. I just bought a monitor - ASUS ProArt 27' and I would like to use it with my MBP from 2024. The main problem is when i connect by HDMI, I think the quality is so bad. Two finger scrolling issues on M1 MBP 16 The entire screen gets stuck when you are trying to scroll with two fingers present on the trackpad and it only starts scrolling when you let go from the trackpad in a flicking motion. I've tried different browsers and it's the same thing. I looked everywhere for a solution and found that it's only an issue when you have the promotion turned on. The problem also goes away if you restart it. I'm trying to to see if someone has a more permanent solution to this. 3 0 replies

brand new macbook ports not working hi! Display and mirroring options in Sequoia I updated to Sequoia and it's unbelievably frustrating just trying to get my dual monitors to work like they did before. My (prior) main monitor now just says click the window and window box to enable mirror. The monitor connected through a hub which is my secondary monitor doesn't display the desktop properly so I can't get to the mirroring controls. And the function of the display settings, the way they are no longer containing any of the mirror settings which you can only access through the pull-down menu... 2 1 replies
