Accidentally deleted disk image folder/ locked folder. Cannot find it or access it now, even though it still takes up space on my laptop. So a while back I had created a password protected folder by going to Disk Utility and creating a disk image of a folder from there. That disk image file was saved in my Documents folder for long and whenever I wanted to open the locked folder, I had to simply click on it and enter the password. Chrome has become an absolute pig I've got a 2021 M1 MacBook Air. Have loved it since I got it. I use it for the usual stuff plus serious software dev (Scala, Rust). It's a powerful machine. In the last month or so Chrome has become almost unusable. I am not one of those \~100 tabs open people - more like 30-40 at the most. Can anyone help me get the metadata to fix the sorting in iBooks and synchronize it properly via Finder? Hello! Anyone encountered this issue in IBooks? I want to try to sort my audiobooks in iBooks in a way that it is easier for me to check all of the books in a specific series. In my Mac, I am able to select which audiobooks I can synchronize either to my iPhone or iPad. Word .plist continues to rise from the dead Sonoma 14.7.2. Most recent Office 365. I did add Word to the privacy settings. I logged out of Word. I logged back into Word. After...no apparent reason, Word now asks for permission when opening a file from the recents tab. (It also hangs for 30+ seconds when opening any .docx from the finder and/or clicking on the file when it opens, which is also great.) I've heard that I should delete the .plist. So I do that. Accidentally set computer into recovery mode. Is there a way to go back to the log in screen without losing data? Upon restarting the computer (even after already out in this mode) it goes to the OS X Utilities screen. Won't running lots of utility apps slow down the computer? I usually like to keep my OS light and without unnecessary apps running in the background (old habit coming from when I used to have a memory-challenged PC as a kid). Battery % indicator in menu bar disappears when apps are running Hi, I like to be able to look up and always see what percentage of battery remains in my Mac. If i have just Finder open I can see it. if I open a browser then I see: Tab, Window, Help, WiFi strength, search etc. If I minimize the browser then it shows again. does anyone know what I mean, I realize I am explaining clumsily. Attempts to disable SIP ask me for authorized user, but nothing works I’m on an M1 MBP. I have enabled myself as a root user. When I enter recovery mode and execute the crsutil disable command, then wants me to type in an authorized user. Neither my account nor computer name work; it says ‘unknown user’. Apple Keyboard with TouchID choices I really like my new keyboard with TouchID. I use it with a Mac Mini. I use the TouchID a lot for both access into the Home Screen of the Mac, and filling in passwords on websites. Are there actions that hard pressing the button does with besides locking the screen (back to the login screen)? Maybe something is available with the Cmd, Alt, Ctrl. Going nuts trying to add a printer We have 2 older printers, a Canon MX-490 for color and a Brother HL-5740DW for monochrome and 2 sided printing.
