Unfortunately couldn't find any solution on the web. However, here's the quick solution I found out playing around with my mac. Works on MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1 1. Is it possible to allow Thunderbird on MacOS to check for new messages while the screen is locked, or at least immediately upon unlock? Hi r/mac, This question is one I have not been able to answer, either with google-fu or interrogating AI (what a mess that still is for nuanced technical questions!). Can't use Apple Intelligence on other Mac accounts Hi! I recently tried installing Apple Intelligence on my M4 Macbook Pro, running MacOS 15.2. I clicked the get Apple Intelligence button, but it said that an internet connection is required, which I have. I tried rebooting, changing language and region, reinstalling MacOS, but they didn't work. So, I created a new admin account and got Apple Intelligence working there (with a different Apple ID). Cursor stutter in video player on external tv So I'm on sequoia m2 macbook air and i use hdmi(supports 4k 60hz) to connect it to my samsung 8(43)(which supports 4k 60hz). It was working fine until yesterday when i switched the hdmi port from 2(eARC) to 1 because sound ouput from tv was greyed out. Obviously didnt even work for HDMI 1 and then i switched back to hdmi 2 again. identityserviceD will intermittently use up a massive amount of CPU and drain my battery, do i just accept this or is there a way to stop it from running unnecessarily? Occasionally my Mac battery will drain faster than normal, even if I'm only doing light tasks or even just letting my Mac sit there. Desktop Functions unable to use So what I'm facing basically is I am not able to use my desktop. I still have the folder called "desktop", but whatever files I store inside does not shows on my actual desktop. There's nothing happening when I click the desktop with double finger (which I believe ought to show me options like stack files or something like that) or any other way. Mac Mini M4 Pro - Sequoia 15.2 Update Fail - Failed to Personalize I have a handful of Apple devices. I was able to update all but one - my new Mac Mini M4 - to 15.2. Is anyone having similar issues with the warning "Failed to personalize the software update. Please try again."? I power cycled a couple of times, but no go. Signing Off On iCloud without losing anything I am about to give my son my desktop that is loaded with music software (Arturia, Native Instruments, etc.) but want to get rid of all the iCloud connections that it presently has with my other computers and phone. I imagine the easiest way to do this is just to remove the desktop's access to iCloud, and delete the info (bookmarks, contacts, photos, etc.) - Silly question, but deleting the access of this computer to iCloud should have no affect on the information (such as bookmarks and contacts) on... 11 0 replies
Chrome is worse on my new 2024 MacBook Air I just got a new 2024 MacBook Air and I notice that Chrome often signs me out of sites and keeps signing me out of my Google account often. It does this when I open up incognito and it keeps showing pop ups of “something went wrong when loading your profile”. I tried clearing my cache and chrome and macOS are fully up to date. Data backup advice Hello! I am trying to help my fiance with her data storage which has become a mess. An app for keeping screens/monitors in order? I use my MacBook docked at my desk with a monitor and iPad 3 screen setup, but I also use it on the go as a laptop. Every time I reconnect to the desk monitors, the they are all out of order and don't remember their settings and placement. Is there an app that fixes this? Can Apple Intelligence Default to using microphone?
