Video can't be played in Quick Look preview but it can be played in QuickTime Player So I have a video that doesn't play when I try to preview it with spacebar Quick Look preview and QuickTime also says that the file "contains files that aren't compatible with QuickTime" but then it still plays in QuickTime and also in VLC player. Customize "sort by" Priority/Order Is it possible to alter the way Mac OS sorts icons by "kind"? I'd like an Automator application on the top right corner of my desktop, but also want to keep everything sorted and tidy. I want icons organized by "kind" and "name", but would like to alter the order that these icons are sorted (i.e.: I want Automator applications as the highest priority followed by the default sort order). How to set default telnet application? Moving Time Machine files to a new disk I got a new disk for my Time Machine backup. It's been a few years since I have done this. I see now apple no longer allows you to manually copy the files. Carbon copy cloner is also a no go. I was able to come the files with clonezilla on a linux machine. I mounted it on the Mac and all the Backups are there. I ran disk first aid. Found that Spotify.app on MacOS does some cataloging of your home directories. I stumbled on something interesting. While doing a rather complicated combination of upgrading to a larger boot SSD, loading Opencore and updating to Sonoma I found interesting files created by the Spotify.app. I was looking for a way to make Spotify run OpenGL instead of Metal and was in ~/Library/Application Support/Spotify.app/Users/<spotify username>/ and I saw a file named “local-files.bnk”.
