Internet recovery issue

Hi, My Mac had an issue and I erased it. Now it’s in internet recovery but doesn’t want to connect to my WiFi neither to my hotspot. I don’t have a dock to connect it by Ethernet. I tried all the keys combinations but it doesn’t take it and restart directly to the internet recovery. When I shut it down it restarts also directly to the internet recovery. It’s an Intel based Mac with a T2 chip. Thanks

How can I type Greek letters with triple diacritics on macOS?

I can type a single acute accent, such as **ά**, **έ**, **ί**, **ό**, and **ύ**, as well as a diaeresis, like **ϋ** and **ϊ**. However, many Greek words require certain letters to have both an acute accent and a diaeresis, such as **ΐ** and **ΰ**. On Windows and Linux, this can be done by pressing the tonos (΄) twice and then selecting the desired letter. However, on macOS, pressing (΄) a second time cancels the input. How can I type these characters on macOS?

macOS 15.3 freed up my storage space

I have a MacBook Air M1 2020 256gb. Before the update i always had about only 70-80gb free storage. I always maintained this free space by regularly clearing my cache and backup files. But now on the Sequoia 15.3, i have 131gb of free storage. I disabled Apple intelligence and Siri, that’s all what I did different. Did i lose any important system folders? Or has anyone observed the same increase in storage after the update? Thanks!

Transitioning back from windows(ultrawide monitor with Mac mini m4)

So I was using mac for about 3 years and then my MacBook pro died, it was a 2019 Intel 16" monster that couldn't keep up with itself. Since then I built a gaming PC and most recently I was gifted a 1440p ultrawide monitor. Can I use my 1440p ultrawide with a Mac mini m4 comfortably with the scaling quirks of macOS. Just unsure about desktop Macs because I have this brand new OLED ultrawide and the only thing I'm stuck on is whether macOS is even going...

Folders in iCloud trash that won't die

Somehow, I have a couple of folders in my iCloud trash that can't be permanently deleted. I can try to empty the trash but those folder keep coming back. I have no idea why. I have a lot of devices (3 phones, 1 pad, 1 TV, and 4 macs, no Windows boxes) signed in with the same iCloud account. But no matter which device I delete them on, they keep reappearing. I even tried to `sudo rm -fr ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents/.Trash/*`. That didn't work either. I also tried to empty...

Best Way to Optimize a 2K 27” 100Hz Monitor on MacBook Pro?

Just got a **27” 2K (2560x1440) 100Hz** monitor and hooked it up to my **MacBook Pro 16”**. I mainly use it for **coding, reading PDFs, and watching tutorials**, so I want to get the best display quality possible. macOS scaling can be weird sometimes, so what’s the best way to tweak it? Also, do you guys use **BetterDisplay (free version)?** If so, how do you set it up properly without needing the pro version? Looking for the best settings to get crisp text and smooth performance. Any tips? 🙌

MacOS is 'mostly' unable to connect to SMB drive over Wireguard VPN. Phone and Windows Laptop can without issue. Mac is able to navigate to WebUI for TrueNAS and others so its definitely on the network. I'm able to access the network drive if I mount in the terminal.

Quick question on time machine going from old to new mac

So I have a very old mac, the certificate is long expired. (I think it's on something like mountain lion or close to it.) I was wondering if there would be any problems backing it up to a time machine, then from the time machine, dumping that into the new mac. I understand some software will no longer be supported, but otherwise, should there be any issues I can expect? Thank you.

Is there any reason to not use the highest refresh rate on monitor with MacOS

I have two monitors setup, the main one is a 4K Dell 60hz directly to the Mac, then I have a secondary 1440p Alienware monitor that goes up to 165hz that goes Displayport to Caldigit dock then USB-C to Mac. Is there any reason to not run the Alienware at its highest refresh rate? I am not gaming at all on the Mac (that monitor is connected to a PS5 for that), it is just a secondary for videos/youtube or extra windows. It gives me the option to have...

safari doesn't download files properly

so basically, when I try to download or save a file (powerpoint, word, csv, excel) safari just opens another tab with the data but I can't download and use the files. is there a way to fix this?

Ventura: Dock doesn't work properly after upgrade to 13.7.3.

Clicking in icons in the dock doesn't switch apps. I can Cmd-Tab to switch apps, or right-click on icons in the dock and choose a window to open, but that's infuriating. Anyone else experiencing this issue, and have an idea of how to resolve it?

Can anyone help me backup my iTunes music to a Seagate Hard Drive please?

So I just bought a Seagate hard drive so I can backup my iTunes music and I just went to try it out and it won’t let me transfer my iTunes Media to my hard drive. My MacBook Pro recognizes the Seagate hard drive but I can’t transfer my iTunes Media over to it for some reason. What’s the easiest way I can transfer my iTunes Media/music to my Seagate Hard Drive?

Pages - Anchor graphics to text ?

In Pages 14.3 I cannot get graphics to move with text. Format/Arrange/MoveWithText does not seem to work. For example, if I try to insert a PNG between two paragraphs it will place the graphic at the bottom of the previous page, two paragraphs prior to where I wanted it inserted. If I cut those two paragraphs and try to paste them prior to the graphic, they end up after the graphic. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Copying Time machine Files from old HDD to new HDD

Hi all, I am really struggling with moving time machine backups from an old hdd to a new one. My old HDD is nearing 15 years and so I want to preserve the files on it, so I've been trying to move the files to a new HDD. I understand that it is difficult, if not impossible to actually use the same time machine files as a backup in the future, but I simply want to preserve the files on it so I can access them if need be....
