35M struggling to get married I have heard girls get married if they do 16 Mondays fast for Lord Shiva to get a good husband. I have been fasting every Monday without fail, whether I be travelling or working or not working for the past 12 years. Off late I have been trying to get married but its just not happening - so far I have faced 9k rejections on matrimony sites and I have not been able to meet anyone in person so far - things didn't proceed to that stage itself. Is Reflected consciousness/Chidabhasa active after death? Swami Sarvapriyananda answers. https://youtu.be/cXat25Osh_M?si=TbohwCK7s-71KaRv After death of physical body, the sukshma shareera along with karana shareera transmigrates to new bodies or goes through other worldly experiences. The reflected consciousness or chidabhasa is active throughout this journey. Some popular new-age pseudo Vedantins like Acharya Prashant have said that consciousness is physical and it dies after death of physical body. It’s completely false according to Vedanta. After death, the reflected consciousness together sukshma shareera and karana shareera remains active, there is no “death” or discontinuation of subjective experience after death. 4 0 replies

Whoever obeys my teachings will never die Apply your mind, go back in time and try to recollect the moment when for the first time it dawned on you that ‘you are’ or ‘I am’. This nascent ‘I am’ is without words or non-verbal. By meditating on the knowledge ‘I am’ it gradually settles doom at its source and disappears, then you are the Absolute. Catch hold of the ‘I am’ and all obstacles will evaporate, you will be beyond the realm of body-mind. Go on to know the ‘I am’ without words, you must be... 3 0 replies
Can Sishtachara make caveats to Smriti? So I know how Smritis can make exceptions to general injunction in the Veda. For example, the Vedas command that we should not kill any beings. But the Smritis make an exception for Kshatriyas and for self defense. This is Visesha Dharma and Apad Dharma. (For a similar reason the Smriti custom of Sati doesn’t violate the general Vedic prohibition of Atmahatya) My question is that for general Smriti declarations, can Sishtachara (practice of the cultured people) make similar caveats, as permissions or prohibitions? 1 0 replies
