Is Standing on One Leg Considered Inappropriate in Hinduism? https://preview.redd.it/ut7xlp5anxhe1.png?width=637&format=png&auto=webp&s=8843ee04c1a806e52559d32760660d1a35971c19 My grandma always insists that I shouldn't stand on one leg. I \[35M\] sometimes do it when I’m too tired or just have nothing to lean on. One day, I was standing like this, and she told me it’s not good to stand that way. But in my house, I’ve seen many pictures of Lord Krishna and other deities in a similar posture. Is there any religious or cultural reason behind this? Is it considered inauspicious, or is this just a local belief? Would love to hear your... 4 0 replies

Will this thought also get logged in our logbook or if a person executes that ill thought then only its going to be recorded?... 4 4 replies

Hinduism and others dharmic religion Buddhists, Jains, and Sikhs often claim that their religions have no connection to Hinduism—not even a common origin or the status of a sister religion. Some even accuse Hinduism of being a copy-paste of their traditions. So, as Hindus, should we simply stop saying they are part of Hinduism or brothers ? We know that Buddha, Rishabhanath, and Guru Nanak were born into Hindu families before rejecting Hinduism and founding their own religions. Buddha and Thirthankaras and Sikhs Guru even they denies of Brahman existence, recognise existence of ours... 4 6 replies
Today is the day Bhishma Pitamaha gave the world the Vishnu Sahasranama, or the 1000 Names of Vishnu Our scriptures arise from questions posed to learned teachers. When Valmiki asks Narada about the ideal man, Narada replies to him about Sri Ramachandra which gave us the Ramayana. When Arjuna asks Krishna to vanquish his sorrow, we are given the Bhagavad Gita. When Nachiketa asks Yama about the ultimate, we are given the Katha Upanishad. Similarly, Yudhishtira asked Bhishma, who is an authorized teacher as per the above verse, 6 questions, 1. Who is the One Deity in the world? 2. What is the sole and Supreme Goal?... 2 0 replies
What is the difference between right ear sound after meditation/sadhna vs left ear sound? Reaching a positive or negative State? I have experienced these ringing sounds after mediation from both ears after different sessions. The right one comes after you're feeling more satvic, happy, positive and justice etc and is indicated you're doing it right? The left one comes from fear, negativity etc? Its been a while since I've heard the right ear sound continuously, it doesn't disturb you but you can hear it when you're sitting idle. I'm unbothered by these things now but I just wanted to know. 1 0 replies
