Im 17 years old and lust has taken full control over me I frequently masturbate and ALWAYS have lustful thoughts.I have been struggling like this for over a year now and when i suddenly became religious i have a feeling I let god down because i promised him I won't ever feel or do anything like this again but I will always repeat this sin. Similarities & Contrasts Between Śrimad Bhagavad Gītā & Nietzschean Philosophy

So, I Was Recently Going Through & Wondering About The Relationship B/W Gita & Friedrich Nietzsche (Especially His Philosophy), Some Of Them I Came Insofar: **Similarities** *Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 2, Verse 70* Says: >Just as the ocean remains undisturbed by the incessant flow of waters from rivers merging into it, likewise the sage who is unmoved despite the flow of desirable objects all around him attains peace, and not the person who strives to satisfy desires. *Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra*, Meanwhile: >One must be a sea, to receive...

Are there some lesser known concepts in Hinduism that Westerners don't know yet?

What concepts could Westerners like me learn that aren't as well known, such as the concept of karma?

    Ishta resonance

I feel like I can sense a kind of what I'm calling"resonance" (there is probably a better Sanskrit word) when I'm honest with my ishta. I feel like he can tell when I'm being dishonest with myself. I don't know the point of this post is just something that came to me when I was doing sadhana.

Nama the sole antidote to Maya.

    || SHREERAM JAI RAM JAI JAI RAM || Nama the sole antidote to Maya. There are many who keenly desire to devote themselves to Rama and nama. But do not actually practice it. Why is this so? This is due to the Obstruction of Maya How can we outwit Maya and reach God? She is like his shadow, And to expect him to come without His shadow is as good as asking Him not to come. Maya is thus an unavoidable accompaniment to God. The only way to outwit...

Do Vishnu’s Avatars Inherit Karma? Questions on Reincarnation and Divine Justice

If karma determines what happens in the next life, then how did the later avatars of Vishnu take birth while Parshuram Ji, an earlier avatar, is still alive? Parshuram Ji, being a *Chiranjeevi*, must still be accumulating karma. If he never "died" in the human sense, then how could Shree Ram and later Shree Krishna be born? Shouldn’t the karma of one avatar be resolved before the next one appears? If karma passed from Shree Ram to Shree Krishna, then how does it work when an earlier avatar like...

Is it wrong to fear God?

Hare Krishn! A few days ago, I had this thought "Am I in the wrong for fearing God?" For context, I've been home alone for quite a while and my father called me to remind me to offer Milk (prasad) to Laddu Gopal's idol. I asked him whether doing that was mandatory, and he said yes. So I got up and offered milk in a copper glass. During this process, I thought to myself why am I doing this? Is it because I'm afraid of God that if I...

    Listening to Prayers while Sleeping?

Is it okay to listen to prayers while sleeping? I have a playlist of mantras on Youtube. I didn't know if we would be considered "dirty" since we're on our beds -- would it be the equivalent of praying without showering? Thank you.
