Scammed by delivery boy but got my money back! Hi everyone! I’m new to Bangalore and recently moved from a PG to a flat. Since I shifted, I’ve been ordering a lot of things from Amazon and Meesho for my new place. One day, while I was in the office, I got a call from a delivery guy saying he had come to deliver my Meesho order. Since I had been ordering so many things, I didn’t know exactly which one it was. When I asked if it was a COD order, he saw an opportunity to scam... 5 12 replies

50 % + 25% off is not 75% off. Its only 62.5% off. I went to Trends today in Nexus mall and the entire store was filled with the poster saying “50% off + 25% off.. Most of the people interpreted this as 75% off. But during bill only it was explained that, initially all the items would be billed for 50% of MRP price and then 25% off would be applied on the total bill. So it would actually only be 62.5% off. This might seem obvious for few people. But almost everyone at the store were confused when the bill... 3 16 replies

Good Bye, Bangalore It is probably because I was born amidst the unadulterated nature of the Northeast that I never sought peace in nature. The oceans and the sound of waves attract me a little, but it is the city life where I have found salvation. Perhaps it also has to do with the fact that I was brought up in the upper middle-class comforts of an Indian joint family. Cities, where millions of people live alone together, experiencing everything on a grand scale—both its beauty and ugliness—bring a certain kind of... 1 16 replies
Are you all noticing the decline in water quality these days? BWSSB water smells like bleach and chlorine right out of the tap. it used to be very mild but now its actually noticeable. I can actually smell the bleach when i enter my bathroom. It is leaving tiny deposits at the bottom of my washing machine these days. Clothes don't smell as good as they used to. My hair is getting rougher. Feels grim day by day, things are getting worse. 2 8 replies
Suspicious act in Kr market This morning at 10 AM, I went to KR Market to get my laptop repaired. I parked my Activa 4G near the BMTC bus stand, on one of the cross roads. I placed my helmet inside the boot space (dikki), locked it securely, and also applied the hand lock. Then, I walked to the laptop service shop, which took me about two hours. When I returned to my parking spot, I noticed my helmet was placed on top of the seat, and one of the mirrors was damaged. Nothing... 3 7 replies
“GST” on Littering! Before you start hating, hear me out. I am all for voicing against middle class being burdened by GST on everything with very slow/no visible development in return. But littering and civic sense needs serious reform here. Not only are we seeing it in front of our eyes and not taking any action, but literally any reel of india shared on the global stage has a touch of disgust on the poor hygiene. Since MoF/Nirmala Sitharaman is already in a momentum to tax us out of everything, if she... 4 2 replies
Repeated Sob Stories from the Same Delivery Person – What Would You Do? A while ago, I ordered food through Swiggy, and when the delivery person arrived, he told me a heartbreaking story about how his wife was in the hospital and he needed money urgently. Feeling sorry for him, I transferred a small amount of money to help. He thanked me and left, and I didn’t think much of it after that. A few months later, I placed another order on Swiggy, and to my surprise, the same delivery person came to deliver my food. This time, he had a different... 4 9 replies
Sexually harassed by founder of a service based organisation The founder of a service based company has been charged of sexual harassment. The company had no POSH when the incident happened in a party in Bangalore. Now the company set in a POSH policy in place and they took in the complaint but since the complaint was against the founder it did not make sense. The case got pushed to LCC, and it seems this was the first case that the LCC got in years. The respondent however failed to appear in the LCC and went to the... 5 11 replies

If using Namma Yatri for airport and going non-toll road, make sure driver ends ride before payment Happened with me twice. Namma Yatri's initial price estimate for airport is through toll road (toll tax included). Driver will take non-toll road and say the initial estimate was for non toll only and will charge toll separately for toll road. If you choose to take non-toll road he will share the scanner just after entering airport area and ask you to pay the initial amount. They will end the ride only after leaving and the final trip cost will be lower then the initial estimate (diff was exactly... 1 3 replies
