Calling for help feels heavy, but enduring abuse is even heavier. 💔Please read and let me know if what I did was right or wrong

I'm a 27-year-old Indian woman, and I've been witnessing my father physically and verbally abuse my mother throughout their 28 years of marriage. He's inflicted serious harm on her, including damaging her vocal cords and causing injuries. He uses the worst imaginable slurs and resorts to violence if anything annoys him. Yesterday, I woke up to loud shouting and rushed to the kitchen, where I saw him hitting my mother. Within minutes, he slapped her hard, and I decided to call the police, hoping it would bring some change....

Why is Sonic 3 release delayed in India?

I'm super hyped for the movie Sonic the Hedgehog 3 that's supposed to release on Dec 20 in most countries but in India it was first delayed to Dec 27 and then to Jan 3. Since it releases so late which means I gotta stay out of the internet for 21 days from spoilers. Is it because of Pushpa 2 or Mufasa or something? Mufasa releases in India on Dec 20 only without delays.

Why don't people in this subreddit understand that in a AskXYZ subreddit, you are supposed to ask a question to the XYZ community.

Instead of expressing an opinion and end it with a "what do you folks think?" To make it look like a question.

Men rights will also be there. Will just need some more sacrifices so that the system wakes up.

Just after this case, I saw many female friends of mine suddenly shocked by the impartiality of the system. I also mentioned how prenups are valid in India which gives atleast some chance to the informed man. What I feel is, we as a society are always evolving. Men rights will also come, just that it will take some time. Right now the laws are biased towards women because they have faces more harrasement throughout history. Just that.

Reflection on Gender Dynamics and Legal Reforms in Marriage Practices

In earlier times, women faced numerous social injustices, one of which was the treatment of the bride’s family as second-class citizens. The bride’s family was often expected to submit to the groom’s family, sometimes even resorting to acts of humiliation. It was not uncommon for a member of the groom’s family to create unnecessary scenes during wedding ceremonies. One particularly absurd incident highlights this reality. Years ago, during a wedding, the bride’s father was reportedly forced to place his turban at the feet of the groom’s father and beg...

    Convince parents foreign girlfriend

Hi, I am 24M and I have a foreigner girlfriend (25F). My mom is traditional and conservative in terms of relationships and marriage. I told her about my partner on my visit to India and she freaked out and over multiple days of discussion she made it clear to me that this would never work out for her and it’s my mistake to have ever started the relationship and expecting her to accept it. She says accepting it is equivalent to ending her life as she would lose her...

I feel stuck in life right now. I’ve been trying to figure out my career, but nothing seems to be working. On top of that, my family’s financial situation isn’t great, and I feel like I’m just adding to their stress. I could really use some advice. Here’s what’s going on: Career Mess : I’ve applied for a bunch of BPO jobs recently, but I keep getting rejected. One was because of my accent, and in another, I messed up by not mentioning I was a fresher. It’s frustrating...

I want to learn cooking. Preferably Indian food at home.

All my life, I wanted to have good food. My mom and wife cook food very well. I'm 27 years old, whenever I tried to cook something it always ends up in some mess. I tried some YouTube videos, I get freaked out because of those ingredients, the right proportions and how time to cook and all...... I just want some suggestions how...

    We don't need foreigner's validation!

I'm sick of these reaction videos and food review videos of foreigners on India. Just a small mention of India from a foreigner and whole Indian community makes the reel popular. I feel India is developed enough that we have our own Standard now. We don't need someone from outside to praise our movies/food etc, for them to be great. We can decide it ourselves. We are just giving them free views and now every other foreigner is targetting India to get views.
