Why IDFC Bank Stock Dropped 25% This Year

IDFC Bank’s stock has had a tough year, falling over 25%. I’ve been keeping an eye on it, and here’s why it’s struggling: 1. Poor Results: The bank’s quarterly results have been weak, with profits dropping each quarter. 2. Banking Sector Issues: New RBI rules and the Joint Liability Group (JLG) loan model have caused problems. Customers are taking new loans just to pay off old ones. It’s like asking one friend to pay another—this can’t last forever. 3. Tough Rules & Weak Growth: Stricter rules and slow job...

Gold v/s CrudeOil - Who will win in 2025?

Gold and CrudeOil have begun to dominate the Multi-Asset War compared to other assets (leave bitcoin aside). In the Short term, CrudeOil is leading. In the long run, Gold is being used as a hedged asset class and it appears that's where smart money is moving. What are your thoughts? Is it a good time to buy zomato?

As recently jefferies downgraded zomato to hold from buy as quick commerce competition is high even though zomato doubled it's value in 2024. Jefferies call it a breather year for zomato that the price will be consolidated. What's your view on this? In contrast Morgan Stanley remains confident in zomato's track of profitability and growth. I think zomato will do good this year too. Comment your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

What happened today? Everyone knew about GDP deaccelerating

Why did the market fell today? I don't believe it is just coz of the GDP news. Everybody knows about this that the growth has slowed this FY, I personally wasn't expecting a correction here Nifty bank, smallcap, midcap, all are down by more than 1% today.

    Market on Jan 8, 2025

Daily Journal: GDP numbers this year may be lowest in the last 4 years. 6.4% may be the GDP growth estimates in FY25. US markets had a weak session yesterday. All the 3 indices closed in red. Futures are trading flat. US 10Y Bond Yield is at 4.6%. Brent Oil is at 77$. Dollar index remains above 108. Asian markets are mixed. Consider global cues as weakish for today. Consolidation continues in the Indian markets. Yesterday’s rally also got sold into and Nifty closed at the bottom end. As...

PSA - If you are invested in Chinese Market via Axis Mutual fund or Edelweiss Mutual Fund - The top holding "tencent holding" is down 7% because it's classified as as Chinese Military Spy company.

They keep informing you about pumping and keep asking you for money and keep telling you that "now is the right time". However they will not share the above news with you. Look at the allegation, the stock can even correct by 50%.

How SEBI, Promotors, Mutual funds take you for a ride and how can you protect yourself from it.

There is a stock named X that hasn’t given much return in the last 5 years. However, in August, the company posted better results. Why did it post better results? It was because the company finished the order book that was given to it in 2021. Volumes started to build up before the results were announced, and on the result day, HFT firms began buying and selling the stock, much like Graviton. There was a large spike in volume on the day of the results, and in the following...

Ambitious investment strategies for newbie investors.

I'm a newbie investor in the Indian stock market, The first thing I read about is to define a return goal, before investing so here is my short term goal, I'd really like your views on how feasible is it to achieve this goal, and what should be the investment roadmaps, if not feasible what should I aim for. So I've a decent amount of money in the market within a short time. Obviously the charts are red for me, not very bad. As the year and my intern...

    Sharp Decline Tomorrow.

Indian markets might face a sharp decline tomorrow due to concerns over GDP slowdown( NSO:6.4%) and the steep fall in the Nasdaq.( Down > 2%) A 2-3% correction is on the cards tomorrow but don’t see it as a buying opportunity, allocate only after meaningful correction as growth rates are not justifying expensive multiples. Allocate gradually after a healthy correction in high quality stocks. 2025-2026 will be a massive buying opportunity for people who have missed the train and a learning opportunity for people who have paid higher multiples...

The US reported its first bird flu death. Will the same people who panicked on Monday over the HMPV news *flock* to dump their shares again?

The point is that there is always something to worry about... How about just focusing on what is controllable and researching individual stocks? https://preview.redd.it/wyfnhpeoimbe1.png?width=889&format=png&auto=webp&s=7ed9a936015e7ceb694f15fecf8280668f477938 Source- [US records its first human death from bird flu in Louisiana](https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/global-trends/us-records-its-first-human-death-from-bird-flu-in-louisiana/articleshow/117007250.cms?from=mdr)

Lost Money, Gained Knowledge. Main game is within you.

In the last 5 years, lost so much money in Option trading that I could buy a flat in cash at the outskirts of Mumbai. But surely gained so much knowledge about the market, even though I know it's a Ocean and I might be gained a glassful of knowledge. The one thing I would like to share is, how much book you read, how much videos you watch, how much chart you read. Nothing will come in rescue if you do not have the right mindset. If you...
