The Freshest Spices in the World. Business Idea. Am I crazy? I will not promote. TL DR; I am starting business importing the freshest spices ever into the USA. I am not sure if I will have a market for this boutique and specialty offering. Can you give me some input? I have had this idea for a while (after having worked in the natural food space for about a decade) -- here it is in a nutshell: The one dirty secret about the spice and botanical supply industry is that basically every single spice you will find on the store shelves or in... 4 1 replies
Any Advice on Funding? (i will not promote) H ey everyone! I’m a student working on an app that I truly believe has potential, but I need around $150 to cover the App Store submission fee and purchase necessary APIs. I’ve already put in a lot of work, and I’m confident in the idea, but as a student, I’m a bit tight on funds for this final step. Does anyone know where I can find small investments, grants, or other resources for this kind of thing? I’ve looked into crowdfunding, but it feels like overkill for such... 4 0 replies
Sports Betting Analytics Dashboard (I will not promote) Hey everyone, I’ve been diving deep into sports betting analytics, and I wanted to share a project I’m working on. I’m building a sports betting dashboard + Discord community focused on using data and probability to make smarter bets. The Idea I’ve always believed that betting shouldn’t just be about gut feelings—it should be data-driven. So I’m working on a dashboard that tracks trends, market movement, player stats, and game probabilities to help identify value picks. The goal is to take the guesswork out of betting and approach it... 5 1 replies
I will make a website for your startup for free (I will not promote) Hi, I hope this will not be considered promoting because all I want is help some startups. I am an aspiring digital product designer and webflow developer. Since I cannot find my first client or getting paid ridiculously little I rather be working for free for an interesting start up that needs a website. All I ask is to have enough creative freedom. So if you need one of that websites with interaction and beautiful animations for the landing page contact me and I will be happy to collaborate... 1 0 replies
How to get customer before building? I will not promote. Lots of mixed confusing advice out there. Build, they will come, get customer first and then build, just build MVP, just MVP is not enough, or just become a copy cat cuz you just want a small company and not 1B company, etc. In my experience, selling is hardest. You become just another spammer in the emails, LinkedIn, phone, when you reach out to people. So how did you find your idea and validated it? I have experience in few industries, but I always had hard time coming up... 3 2 replies

Thinking About Building an App for Couples... Would You Use It? (i will not promote) Hey everyone, So, I’ve been kicking around this idea for an app to help couples (new or long-term) connect better and work on their relationships. I know there are already a few apps out there, but I feel like there’s still room for something that really hits the mark. Here’s what I’m thinking so far (but honestly, I’m just spitballing): * **Daily Little Things**: Tiny prompts or actions to help couples stay connected, like sending a quick voice note or sharing something you appreciate about your partner. * **Love... 3 0 replies
Advice needed for equipment financing ( I will not promote) Hi all, I need advice We’re trying to figure out the best way to finance equipment for a hardware-heavy business, but we don’t have an established credit history yet. Traditional loans are tough to secure, and leasing options often require strong financials upfront. Has anyone found creative ways to get equipment without huge upfront costs? Maybe through partnerships, revenue-based financing, shared infrastructure, or other unconventional strategies? Would love to hear from those who’ve tackled this challenge! 5 1 replies
Utterly failing to find relevant testers for my marketing tool MVP. Any advice/resources? [I will not promote] I know this might seem like a sneaky attempt to promote my project, but I legitimately could use some input from people who have faced this type of connundrum before. My partner and I are building a marketing strategy and planning tool for small businesses. Admittedly we clearly did not do enough research or interviews with potential users before we just said, f'ck it and started building. Classic mistake, I know. We now have an initial MVP of the product that I think is pretty slick. But we've decided... 1 1 replies
Find your solution - I will not promote Ever notice how the best business ideas usually come from annoyances? Airbnb? People were annoyed at expensive hotels. Uber? People were annoyed at waiting for taxis. Slack? People were annoyed at email threads. If something is frustrating enough, people will pay for a solution. 1 1 replies
Question for pre-seed/seed founders actively fundraising - I will not promote What are the biggest problems you are facing right now? I was a founder before and an angel investor now, and I'm trying to validate an idea I had. I know I struggled with certain things at this stage, but if I mentioned them here, I might bias your answers, which would defeat the purpose of me genuinely asking you. I would sincerely appreciate your participation! Thanks in advance! - I will not promote 5 0 replies
How to effective manage an actual department...(I will not promote) My startup was in the right place at the right time, and we're seeing hockey stick growth. I was employee #2, the sole engineer who has been a freelancer pretty much my entire career. I currently manage a couple employees, and we have a Jira board, we do code reviews etc. But I'm about to be managing 10, 12, 20 employees. And I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't have corporate experience at the level a person in my position should have. VC's are starting to knock... 5 1 replies
My Chrome extension already got over 7000 users and still growing!! I will not promote Four months ago I decided to develop a Chrome extension that will help ChatGPT users with their daily tasks, cuz OpenAI did not response to their feature requests, and today it has over 7000 users, over 300 paying users, 4.9 out of 5 start reviews, and also Chrome featured badge!! I am so happy to see my SaaS growing and see how happy and thankful my users are. They say that it saves them tons of time each day, and they really motivated me to continue to add awesome... 4 1 replies
10% WoW Traction Growth the New Standard according to YC? (I will not promote) I usually ignore statements coming from YC at first (not out of disrespect but they represent such a minuscule segment of the startups I work with). But I do wait to see what catches on with the rest of the startup community. Lately I’ve been hearing that they said their startups are achieving 10% WoW growth, especially with AI. For you old fogies like me (in startup years) there was a time that if you hit 10% WoW growth (in a meaningful metric) that was a major deal. Only... 5 3 replies
I will not promote. Do startups with no traction actually get backed by VCs? As the title really do start-ups get funded and supported by investors solely based on the strength of their pitch and product? There's nothing else I want to add here, but the mod will automatically remove my post if I don't meet the character limit so here I am adding extra characters. 3 5 replies
When to start reaching out to Angels? (I will not promote) Hello all, I would appreciate some guidance navigating my plans. Start of next year, I plan to pursue a year long masters to give me a specific skillset, industry insight and networking (including potential manufacturers, and industry leaders). When would be the ideal time to start to connect with Angels for pre-seed funding? For more context; - Its in the apparel industry. - The masters will be in a foreign country, I have no plans of living there afterwards. I will likely HQ in England. - I’ve been writing... 2 1 replies
As a Founder Where Do Spend Your Time (I will not promote) As a founder, where do you spend most of your time in the business? Working on the product? Acquiring new customers? Marketing? Validating your idea? Is there a right balance to this? There is soooo much you could of course be doing, the list is endless and more ideas come up as soon as you close one off. I often find it hard to know where to split the time and be most effective. And if there are more than one of you, do you find you split these... 1 4 replies

Best AI tools for non-technical founder to demonstrate the vision (I will not promote) Hey all, I have an MVP nearly ready but when I speak to potential co-founders, customers and investors, I want to be able to show the vision of what it will look like and do in the future. Wondering if people have an opinion on the best tool(s) out there to sell this sort of vision? The output doesn't need to be usable, but I need the people who look at it to understand what the product will be in the future. It could be a bunch of nicely... 3 1 replies
