What GSC/GA metrics actually matter the most? We built an SEO Chrome extension to make data analysis less painful (no self-promo, won't name it). Quick question: What metrics do you actually check often in GSC and GA? Not the fluff - the real, meaningful data you wish was easier to access. Trying to build something that doesn't suck and could really use your insights! Bonus points for sharing your “why is this so buried in 5 submenus?!” pet peeves. 5 0 replies
Local SEO - Service Business Address - To Add or Not To Add? Hey, New to SEO, working on my Wife's photography SEO. We, for obvious reasons, don't want to list our address on our GBP and other citations. I've noticed that the best performing photography sites near us all have a weird address, like a vacant lot or an apartment clubhouse. Is that standard practice instead of using your actual address? is that usually done across all citations as well to avoid NAP issues? Thanks 1 1 replies
Does “old school” SEO still work? Let’s say I have a business/website that sells shoes. There are different pages on my website for hiking boots, running shoes, athletic shoes, etc… My main goal is to rank highest for shoes in my local market for website visits and sales both online and brick & mortar. So when I say “old school” SEO… I mean stuff like this… Hiking focus: Page with links to local hiking clubs. Individual blog posts/articles (on website) describing outings on different locally known hiking trails… with a “find the right hiking boots... 2 2 replies
How to improve SEO positioning for a social media account on google so by profession i am a sysadmin, but lately my boss has given me a task to improve her twitter account position in google search results. If i search her name in google another women's Instagram comes in the first and her twitter comes 2nd which she wants to be first on the page. I have looked into it, couldn't get any straight answers. I found that it also depends on the account activity and presence. Will 105 city location pages with ChatGBT cause the 2024 Dec SPAM Google algorithm sweep? I have a website with over 105 location pages by zipcodes, created and rewritten by ChatGBT with human adjective edits for each city covering the entire United States and Canada. The website had in December, 2024 a high visibility, high organic keywords, and high organic traffic. After December, 26th everything dropped dramatically. There has been extensive backlink work but a second glance into the 1,700 backlinks remaining on this 26 year old Joomla website. I was not sure if the location pages triggered the 75% drop in all areas... 1 1 replies
Local grid search results dropped due to spam? Hey, I've been getting used to Local Falcon and improving my site's SEO. Everything was slowing working, but now when I run an area scan, All of my grid points are 20+, and my feedback is full of entries that say: "Your ranking is being pushed down by a potential spam or inactive listing, 'Some Company Name' with 0 reviews and a rating of 0.0 and no website listed" Does anyone know what is happening here? I have no relation to any of the companies that are mentioned. Thanks... 5 0 replies
For creating a news website in WordPress, would you recommend using specialized themes from ThemeForest like Foxiz or SmartMag, or should I use a lightweight general-purpose theme like Kadence and build it up from there? What are the pros and cons of both approaches? Which one is suitable for scalability, security and speed? 3 0 replies
I bought lots of backlinks on Fiverr awhile ago when I didn't know what I was doing... So, how do I know if Google is punishing my site? Also, how long does google hold a 'grudge' for these fake backlinks? 4 3 replies
We rank 1 for a keyword that leads just to the homepage. Worried about upcoming website redesign. So I am to redesign a client website (a dental office) and they currently rank number 1 for "\[city name\] dentist" which is arguably the most important keyword they need to hit on organically. I want to preserve this top rankning. Regardless SEM Rush says most of the organic traffic a month is coming from this keyword in addition to the practice name and Dr. Name to the homepage. Because of this, in the new design, I was going to just duplicate the homepage content and H1,2,3, alt text,... 4 1 replies
Local Map Pack Ranking I was wondering if anyone has seen any correlation of the two. This week my Google map pack ranking for 2 different locations dropped from 1-3 to 20 or non existent . I received an alert yesterday that My Moz Domain Authority moved up 4 points. Other than that we optimize our gmb page regularly, we have regular seo and website management. So I’m confused if this could have had something to do with it? I also have a new location and that one is doing better than my... 3 1 replies
Can remove content from Google Search and create a new site with the same content? Hey, everybody! Like many others, I suffered from Google's December spam update, and now 15 of my sites have 0 clicks and 0 impressions. I started to recover my sites. I bought a new domain, uploaded a backup, slightly changed the site, and rewrote the content. One site is already regaining clicks, but the process is slow. Two questions: 1. Can I create a request in Search Console on one of my sites to remove content and then upload a backup of that site on a new domain? I... 4 1 replies
Long list post: publishing in its entirety vs gradually I'm working on writing a very long list style blog post. It will contain at least 41 items. It's taking me quit a long time to write all these, so I was wondering if it would be beneficial to simply publish the post with only 10 of the items, and then gradually keep updating the post as I write new items. Will doing this be better or worse for SEO on this blog post? Thanks! 10 0 replies

Google is ranking garbage sites after the updates... Sorry but have to rant here.... A competitor site in the mortgage business here in Toronto is ranking #1 for a good keyword phrase, decent traffic . Website is EMD and basic WordPress, nothing special, just a bunch of text . No company name, address, licensing number not displayed which is 100% illegal as per regulator rules. Phone number goes straight to voicemail lol. Completely garbage site. Only 16 backlinks showing in moz etc. How is Google thinking this is a quality website to rank #1 .. Absolutely ridiculous....... 1 6 replies
Is it confusing for SEO to post the same images from blog on Pinterest How is this working, I understand that Pinterest will immediately index that images but in that case I feel that my blog potentially have duplicated images because of authority of Pinterest or I am thinking wrong? 4 2 replies
Seo Tool recommendation? Hi, I need an SEO tool for keyword analysis, backlink checking, and competitor analysis. Currently, I’m using a two-week SEMrush membership from forums, but it’s not ideal to restart everything repeatedly. Do you have any recommendations? I tried SiteGuru but didn’t like it, and I’m unsure about Ubersuggest either. We have blog too so keyword analysis is really important for me. 3 4 replies
"Bad URL's" in Search Console and "hidden" penalty? Hi guys I’m seeking some advice regarding an SEO issue. I have two identical webpages (except the language) targeting two different countries. \- One is performing extremely well—it’s ranking #1 for several competitive keywords. \- The other was also doing well until it got flagged with “Bad URLs” in my Core Web Vitals on Google Search Console (for slow speed) I’ve since resolved those issues, and for the past 14 days, Search Console has shown that this page now has “Good URLs.” However, it’s been nearly three months since... 3 2 replies
