Changing a static image map to an interactive (HTML5) map. Any loss in SEO? Not an SEO expert by any means! I'd like to replace an image (.PNG) with HTML5. I'm thinking I'm going to lose some Google juice as I will no longer have an image on the page, image won't be indexed, etc. It looks like I can add HTML to the HTML5 element. Any advice? Thanks!! 5 0 replies
Just lost a big account, what I am doing wrong? I have a local SEO client that ranks over 150 high search volume keywords within the top 10 positions in a highly competitive industry. Do you think Google will stop using AI responses? Quality over Quantity? So its no secret that this is a down year for SEO with google testing out AI responses and overall trying to increase ad spend from their customers. Whether you think SEO is dead or not, there is no denying that the numbers are just not there like they once were. What im here to discuss is whether yall think the terrible quality of these responses will make google pivot back into their reliance on small site owners again? Ive seen this theory be talked about for a while... 3 16 replies
Rebranded and redirected We just went through a rebrand and changed our domain name. Nothing was done to prepare from an SEO perspective other than redirect the old domain to the new one. I asked for access to Google analytics for the new domain but was told that nothing changed with the domain change. So in GA I'm seeing traffic but that's because we're marketing our rebrand. I'm worried about organic traffic over time. Am I worried for nothing? Simply redirecting to the new domain doesn't sound right to me but I'm... 4 4 replies
{weekly discussion} The Top 10 most unpopular Myths of 2024 From replying to almost every thread posted on Reddit in 2024, my list of the most unpopular SEO myths. I've spent years fighting SEO myths - why did I take up this campaign? I've made my living from SEO for 24+ years starting out as a software engineer. And SEO myths just waste so much time, building in things I can only describe as superstitions into processes - like having to add images to blog posts or adding 10 steps to publishign an article that are a complete waste... 1 7 replies

Help with local SEO I’ve taken on a project for a home appliance service’s website and SEO work. To be honest, I don’t have much experience with local SEO. I’ve optimized the Google My Business profile and worked on local keywords. I’ve also focused on NAP information and local keyword strategies. What should I do next, in your opinion? 5 16 replies
Has Anyone Used a Link Building Service That Actually Delivered Results? I’ve been looking into link building services to boost my client site’s SEO, but I’m skeptical about the quality and results. There are so many options out there, and I’ve heard mixed reviews—some say it’s a game-changer, while others call it a waste of money. Has anyone here used a link building service that actually improved your rankings or traffic? If so: * Which service did you use? * What was the pricing like? * Did you see long-term benefits, or was it just a short-term boost? Any advice... 3 1 replies
Are Weglot and Product Feed Pro compatible with each other? I want to expand my ecommerce products to google shopping and Bing shopping in the EU. For that I need to also make it multilingual with appropriate currencies etc. From the research I have done it seems Weglot is the best translation plugin to use that wont tank the site speed if adding 10+ languages on the website. But I also need to generate my product feed and need the product descriptions to be translated as well for the appropriate countries for them to be able to be shown... 4 0 replies
Could a JSON update influence the position on Google? Hello. Is it possible that an update to a JSON file used for a website causes the Google position to drop (increase actually)? Background: I have a small data analytics website online. The website pulls data from a JSON file, which I create. This file is updated hourly. In mid-December 2023 \[note: assuming you meant 2023, not 2024\], I updated this JSON file and also changed the path where this file is stored. Right around this time, the Google performance report showed a drop in position from 10 (which... 5 0 replies

What is the best SEO strategy to separate one courses into two distinct pages without losing rankings or misleading users? I have a problem with my course page titled Accounting & Finance Course in London. The page performs well for keywords related to "Accounting Course" and "Accounting & Finance Course." However, it is not ranking for "Finance Course" or finance-related keywords. Our Managing Director suggested separating the Accounting and Finance courses into two separate pages. However, the challenge is that we have built backlinks for both accounting and finance courses to this single page over the last six years. If we create a new page for the Finance Course,... 5 0 replies

Rankings wipe-out in 24 hours due to products split. How to recover? We wiped out 1 years of rankings progress (from average page ranking of 30 to 15) in 24 hours - av rankings crashed to 30 again and traffic has crashed more than 50% We know why. We split out 3 key product pages (each product page having up to 14 colour variants) into seperate products, each colour now having its own url / product page. How to Ungate a Content? Hi all, I am kind of stuck how I want the gated resources on my website to be displayed while we ungate them. Currently it’s in pdf form and requires a form fill. So basic question is how should we doing it? Should we go ahead and point user to the pdf without the form fill option or do we build the content out on a web page? I would also want to track the changes if we ungate a resource. 3 0 replies
What is the best way to write quality content with ChatGPT? I understand this is an old question here. But I've been experimenting with ChatGPT to see if AI content ranks. I've been writing naturally and it's not quite brining in the results. I think my keyword placement and usage of some good words isn't correct. So I'm trying if ChatGPT can handle this issue. After learning a few things from this sub, I'm generating paragraph-by-paragaph and overviewing everything. Still, sometimes it loses the track of my instructions (I've yet to try the paid version) So, what do you guys... 4 7 replies
