Dark Age of Assamese Language 1836- 1876. 24th February, 1826 The Treaty of Yandabo ended the supreme power of Ahom's 600 year rule and Assam fell into the hands of British Administration. The British understood the potential of Assam's rich resources and hence it was made part of the Bengal Presidency. 1836 The British without any proper research and under the influence of 'Babus' of Kolkata made Bengali as the official language of Assam, giving reasons like 'administrative ease' and 'efficient governance' as reasons. And hence the 'Dark Age of Assamese language' started. Official works were... 4 9 replies

To the non-Indians here - this is not about economic disparity or simple illegal immigation or migration or "taking our jobs" or whatever. This is about something much deeper and more visceral. Hatred will be responded to with hatred. We did not start this, but we will respond in kind. Cultural and Identarian issues in Arunachal Pradesh(Do Read) Arunachal is truly being ruined and submerged in the sea of cultural transfusion. We are barely even able to speak our languages and take pride in being the most Hindi speaking and pro-India state, while our local matters aren't being taken care of. What's worse how much we are lacking in self-awareness. I have said this a lot, but I am tired of the ones going to the mainland and crying about racism, like they aren't racist in Arunachal too. Why make yourself look weak and be at other... 2 6 replies

Good job India As a foreigner, keep them out. Don’t let them in. I’ve seen the effects in Germany of this kind. Keep them out of India, never back down. They will cause terror, kill your people, grape your people and call for a c*liphate. 3 4 replies
Beware of such dogs. I had a lot more comments with u/Spartalust, but as usual, their miniscule chimp brain could not go beyond a single 'illogical' point. These buggers clean our houses in Noida and call themselves from Malda. They will consume you from inside and even at your death bed, their hunger won't be satisfied ! 2 4 replies

Why so much hate? Hey! I’m a mainlander based in South India. I see the posts in this sub regularly and I can help but notice why this sub is so against Bangladeshis? I mean I understand that their culture is very different from northeast India and also there’s a lot of illegal immigration going on which is changing the demography. But why the casual racism, calling them dogs or kanglu and other such things? Many northeasterners already are experiencing racism against them but why become the perpetrators? No hate, just curious 2 10 replies
