Help! Dock wont scroll through icons when hovering with mouse. Hello everyone. I’m having a problem on one of my Mac’s where when you take the mouse pointer and hover over the icons in the dock, they won’t scroll. If I start from the left at finder and scroll to the right, finder is the one still highlighted. I have to move the mouse directly above the app I wanna use and move down to select it. How to view a home security camera on my Mac Mini. I'm using a Mac Mini running Sonoma 14.5 , and I've just been given a home security camera that is now connected to my home WiFi router via an ethernet cable . I can view this home security camera using an Android app on my mobile phone via my home Wifi network. My Mac Mini is also connected to the same home router via an ethernet cable. Already disabled Gatekeeper, app still won't open. So I've already installed a config profile that disables the Gatekeeper as I am in macos sequoia and you can't just run a command like before. I'm still getting a " damaged and can't open " when I go to open the app I installed. There was a readme.txt that said I need to have my SIP disabled. Any way to do this in sequoia? Also, I'm not versed on this side of computers so if disabling that is something super dangerous then let me know please. 5 1 replies
MacOs still cannot get full screen right MacOS's full screen mode is infuriating even on its own native apps. It's always buggy and doesn't scale properly. Even with default display resolution - it consistently does not show full screen. Not sure if others have the same experience and what the solution it. MacOS and poor performance with network storage My m1 MacBook Pro has always performed terribly in comparison to my windows workstations and other linux based VMS and containers which access the same storage. While other OSes can mount and saturate the network and storage throughput of my file servers, my MacBook cannot. Additionally, there is an extreme latency penalty when browsing a directory via terminal or via the file explorer if there is more then several dozen files. Print settings preset not saving properly? I print patterns very often and any scale other than 100% distorts the pattern when its printed. I saved a printing preset with scale at 100% but when I open a new document and select this preset, the "preview" drop down menu resets to "scale to fit" and "print entire image." I want the preset to save the setting for scale at 100% so I don't have to select "scale" and type in 100% every time. Hence why I created the preset, but the scale settings reset. Time machine no longer working with HFS+ My time machine drive is a few years old and it's been working fine with my MacBook. Are caches supposed to be this huge? I have a M1 Mac Mini with 256GB of storage, the issue is that my drive is always full. Even when I free up memory it slowly dwindles down until I'm out again. I found a folder(com.apple.mediaanalysisd) in "Caches" that's taking up almost 60GB, and it's where most of the space I free winds up going. Is it normal for that folder to use so much storage?
