    Resources/Books on Goan cultural history

Hi I'm currently working on a story based on cultural nuances of Konkan. I'm basing the story in post independence Goa. Losely around 1970s to 2000s. Any resources which could help me gain a better understanding of the world during the aforementioned era would be much appreciated🌸 Please drop in with your suggestions

Goans please speak in your local language

Thousands of years of effort would have gone in developing a language. Presence of people from other states should not result in the death of any language. Konkani sounds so sweet. At least when Goans talk to each other they should use Konkani. I am myself not a Goan. But I found it easy to learn. People from outside Goa staying here should make the effort. Start with basic pleasantries. Gradually you will build fluency.

What is up with the guards?

This is my fifth day in Goa, and every time I was in the water, I noticed that whenever a foreigner entered, the guards asked all Indians to come out, citing that the water was too high—even though many people didn’t go beyond knee-deep. I had an argument with the guard about this, and they threatened to call the police. Before entering the water, I even asked the guard if it was safe, and they said nothing. Plus, I didn’t go too far—only up to my waist.

Goa should have its own mesh internet

Similar to NYC Mesh we should have our own mesh network. Rather than relying on unreliable fibre cables routed over poles which can break, we use radio/microwave antennas on each roof. A ubiquiti lite beam antennas can handle 200km/h winds and 15km range. We equip each building with these and create a mesh network that links back to the isp link which goes to the IXP. We could also directly go to IXP but then the closest IXP is in pune. What do you guys think of this idea?...

What do Goans think about Adv. Uday Bhembre's historical comments on Shivaji in his podcast Zagor?

This is what he spoke where he debunks Promod Sawant's incorrect claims about Shivaji. Towards the end he points out the communal mischief that the controversy is intended to stir. https://youtu.be/59KYwMg_KyY?si=-l3elnQyEuxs-FPy

I just hate this state and the country...

I was born in Goa The Goa I used to love doesn't exist today, it's not safe anymore , it's also a shell of it's former self, society is absolutely terrible, CM doesn't give a damn about Goa !!! All they care about is focusing on rewriting history instead of fixing problem, everywhere apartments It feels like I am an outsider in it's own State

    Internet blackout in Goa

This sadly reflects how bad is the goa govt administration. Zero coordination. These guys don't care how important internet is in this day and age. People WFH, earn their livelihoods online, have to attend courses online, interviews online, and the list goes on. But who cares! https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/goa/internet-blackout-goa-goes-offline-as-electricity-dept-slashes-cables/articleshow/118565632.cms
