Does waste segregation at the source actually make a difference, or does it all end up in the same landfill anyway?

I've been diligently segregating my waste into recyclables, compostables, and general trash, but I've heard rumors that, in some places, it all gets mixed together during disposal. Can anyone clarify how this works in practice? Does source segregation genuinely help, or is it dependent on the local waste management system?

Barricading of roads when politicians pass

The whole barricading of roads when politicians pass by with so much police personnel standing at each intersection? It's almost as if their time is so much more valuable than the common man's for whom the road is blocked (for both pedestrians and vehicles) till then. I feel like If anyone should be subjected to the Bangalore traffic it should be the people who are incharge of making the infra better rather than this circus. l realize this is nothing more than a flawed vent which won't really change...

    vada pav at 59 rs??

visited this new fancy maharashtrian outlet in JP Nagar recently and the vada pav was 59 Rs?? felt it to be a bit too pricey although they’re giving it in a fancy and a bit more hygienic way, but is 59 Rs justified? i think a good vada pav price should not be more than 30 Rs…. how much would you be willing to pay for a good authentic vada pav in bangalore?

keep this in mind when using NoBroker

Hello all, I've relied heavily on Reddit for any important spend - so thought it was only fair I drop my recent (pathetic) experience with them from a tenant point of view. Before I am accused of pinching pennies and using NB instead of traditional brokers, please know that is my first time using NB. I've always used a traditional broker before this, but I was tired of their spamming and posting fake listing as clickbait. **TLDR** : NB isn't broker-free anymore, it is simply a property manager for...

    Family things to do?

We are an American family coming to Bengaluru for about a week for business and sightseeing. We have to younger children. (Under 13). 1. What are the awesome must not miss things to do with a family in Bengaluru? 2. What are appropriate professional gifts to bring the leadership team at the local office? 3. I have heard Southern India is much safer than the North (Delhi), should we be concerned about anything regarding safety in Bengaluru?

Taxpayers Stranded as VIPs Get Priority on Roads Near HAL Airport

Roadblocks are frequently set up by the police to allow VIPs and politicians to travel without interruption. While this ensures smooth passage for the elites, it causes significant inconvenience for regular citizens, who are left stranded on the roads for extended periods. This situation is especially frustrating since taxpayers, who fund the infrastructure and elect leaders to serve their interests, are sidelined in favor of the privileged few. The practice raises concerns about the fairness and priorities of the political system, where ordinary people’s needs are often ignored
