Suspicious Flipkart incident this morning This morning, I received a call claiming to be from Flipkart (Truecaller even showed it as genuine). The automated voice asked if I had placed an order for flip-flops and instructed me to press 1 if yes or 2 if no. Since I had no idea about any such order, I didn’t press anything. Strangely, after the call ended, I received a notification saying the order had been placed because I didn’t respond. This raised red flags, so I immediately checked the Flipkart app. To my shock, an order... 1 5 replies
Bangalore's Rising School Fee every year Is it normal for schools in Bangalore to raise the school fee every year by a minimum 10%. How is this allowed by law and how are parents OK with this business? I want to get a wider perspective, is this something common with all schools in bangalore or is just a few schools? The school fees is already high starting from pre primary at around 1.2 lac/year. Why are schools such a corporate business here? They charge exorbitant fees, then ask for the entire years fee or 6months... 4 19 replies
Rant on horrible living condition Just a rant: Dear Builders, Please stop construction. Rampant construction noise in any big city, with poor road and traffic condition, people using cars more for status and less for need - all of these have contributed to poorest form of air that we are breathing today. I wonder at times, how beautiful were the days during covid, with 0 noise or light or air pollution. 3 0 replies

Two Wheelers tailgating an Ambulance Saw a bunch of 2 wheelers tailgating an ambulance through peak Silkboard traffic. The lengths people go to save exactly 3 min and 13 seconds in their commute. These are the people who one can’t trust with anything. Zero empathy. When will we get to a place where road rules are stricter. It’s not even education anymore when a flipkart employee is zooming in almost touching the ambulance behind it. 5 6 replies
Is not having Occupational Certificate (OC) very common for Apartments in Bengaluru? I have seen multiple apartments where the owners are not given the OC by the builders across Bengaluru and many of them are pending since almost a decade as well that does not allow the residents to even apply e-Khata. In my experience in other cities as well, residents are not liable legally to pay maintenance amount also without OC but here all builders are usually charging the same and people are widely cooperating with them as well but nobody raises any concerns. Further, the RWA takes amount in... 4 2 replies

Advice for staying alive in Bangalore Don't drive two wheelers... that's it.. that's the advice. Seriously, after watching 4 crashes in last two days (Mysore road) where two wheeler drivers are tossed like a piece of bread on the road due to inconsiderate idiots in Creta, Thar and blind bats who open right side doors without checking who or what is behind, BMTC drivers competing with other BMTC buses on already jam packed streets. Just don't drive two wheelers it's not worth your limb and life. 2 20 replies

How is our State road tax collected money spent? Disclaimer: Not a rant Genuinely want to understand where does this tax money go? Is it for improving the road network, setup funds for accident victims, road safety education, better roads, road signs, etc. I know RTI would give me these answers but I don't see any budget presented by the transport department every year and any accountability on how the collected money is utilized back. 5 6 replies
What’s wrong with the Gen-Z ? I am a Gen-Z, and I believe that lack of patience, negativity, constant anxiety about future, insane amount of competition and mental health struggles are widespread among my generation. I feel this has only worsened due to the curated lives we see on social media and the silver screen, but most importantly, because of the stigma surrounding seeking help. What is your take on this? What do older people think we need to change, and what can we do better? (Ps: Just to make it clear I am not... 4 0 replies

Adoption appeal! Rescued female pup 3 months old We found an injured 3 month old female pup last week and took her to the hospital. She fought bravely and has almost recovered except for her fractured leg which we got plastered and will take another 14 days to heal. We are planning to get her vaccinated too this weekend. She is a cutie pie, well behaved pup. We hope to find her a forever home with a loving and caring family. Please DM/comment if interested or have any leads.
