If you're considered ugly in a country like India then your social life is doomed. (I'm an example) Please guide me what should I do?

Starting from school time I was the subject of bullying, I was being bullied the most in my school time. Because of my dark skin and facial features which are considered ugly. (let's face the truth l know it) Even the girls of my class used to laugh at me. That thing has impacted me enough that I've developed a irritation and used to defend myself with classic mommy jokes that used to work at that time (only in boys group) now I'm in college and a healthy social...

    Is gym anxiety real?

Like the title says, i get a lot of gym anxiety after taking a break from gym. Not very bad, but quite uncomfortable and reluctant to get back. Do you feel the same? And how do you deal with it mentally? P.s I am not sure if I’ve picked the right flair.

“How Do I Ask for a Salary Without Making It Super Awkward?”

Hey Reddit, I need some advice because I’m stuck in one of those “adulting is hard” situations. Here’s the deal: My dad’s friend has a super successful real estate business in Pune, and I’m really interested in working there. Real estate has always seemed like a field I’d love to explore, and I’m willing to put in the work to learn. The problem? I’d have to move to Pune, which obviously comes with living expenses. I can’t afford to live there without a salary, but I don’t know how...

Please settle this debate: Independent House vs Flat (Apartment)

25M here, from a Tier-2 City! I have lived all my life in an apartment (2BHK). My dad owns the house. It isn’t a big house by any standard but was sufficient enough for a Family of Four. Since last two years I have moved out to a Metro City for my Job but My parents still living in the same old apartment with my younger brother. Considering the apartment infrastructure is getting old and this urge of Indian mindset to have an Independent house; My dad (in his...

I don't have a father. How can I use this for my benefit?

I saw a post where a guy lied about not having a father and getting admitted to a good university. I thought maybe there are ways I can use this thing for my advantage? Any suggestions on what kind of ways I can use this fact to gain any advantage?

Dark skin and tall girls (1.72m <)

In India I realised that dark skin girls are in a disadvantage cause the conventional beauty standards prize women for their fair skin, and for men is when they are tall. But what if the women has dark skin, tall and has good features and figure? Is the height a disadvantage or an advantage, considering the height difference and height preference?? What is your opinions of dark skin girls and would dark skin girls what were some of the comments you have had to endure because of your colour?...

Do you notice dedicated shoe trays being used at your local airport, and as a traveller, do you consciously use them when asked to remove your shoes—or feel irked when others ignore these hygiene practices?

So, I recently saw that after Mr. Anand Nichani's viral post about the hygiene issues with shoe trays at Bangalore Airport, the authorities have now made it mandatory to use dedicated shoe trays. Huge win for hygiene, right? I’m curious about what's happening at other airports across India. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

My boyfriend compared me to his abusive ex just because I said I can't give him money every time. Did I ruin everything? I'm feeling miserable, please help!

Yesterday, my boyfriend(26m) and I(23f) had a huge fight because I told him I can’t keep giving him money all the time. He recently got a job a week ago. I knew from the beginning that he’s not financially stable, but that has never mattered to me because I believe time doesn’t remain the same for anyone. We’ve been together since 2020, but whenever there’s a topic of money, he starts acting weird—he stops talking to me, ignores my texts, and behaves coldly. On December 24, we met because...

Is it normal for parents, both mother and father, above 50 to have a night picnic with their children of 19 and 24 in public ground? Am I right to hesitate going with them?

I know adult children feel awkward going with their senior parents especially to the places where youths gather in crowds. Still sometimes they are compelled to do so. I myself very rarely see adults with their parents in a vehicle. Still I had doubts..

How can I improve my social skills?

During my 9th and 10th grade years, I had very few friends—just acquaintances. I never truly experienced what it was like to have a genuine friendship. One drawback during this time was the constant drama and conflicts among my peers, which was never my style. In conversations, they only seemed to talk about other people. I made an effort to show interest in their discussions, but it didn’t work out. Despite my attempts to socialize, others perceived me as being "chape." All I wanted was to connect with someone....

Do you genuinely feel sad about the state of India?

Just to clarify I don't mean our country is just outright bad,our country is ok. But sometimes do you feel like what should I say; genuinely wish that your country could have been better. Now every citizen of every country wants their country to be the best but I want to hear your thoughts.
