Hello Mumbai, I'm a 27 M, from Mumbai My parents are forcing me to buy a flat in Mumbai just because they think that it will increase my chances of getting marriage approvals. I desperately need your advice. I don't want to fall into a trap as I just started earning(2019 to be specific but lock down took away 2 years) and haven't had may friends so haven't experienced anything in life yet. Why do people block the entrance in local train?

Often people who travel beyond Thane (Dombivli, Diva etc) stand in the area near the entrance of the train compartment, even before reaching Kurla despite there being space inside the coach. This makes it difficult for others to both enter and leave at other stations. Why do they do it ?

Is anyone else paying a very high insurance premium?

I have a health insurance policy for my parents since last 13 years from an insurance provider. This year the proposed premium amount has gone up very significantly (compared to previous years). Usually the increment in premium payment ranged from 5-10% every year, but this year there is a steep hike of 40%. When I queried the insurance provider, they said it is due to high medical inflation and rising costs. As per a simple search, the medical inflation is somewhere around 12-15%. But does that give these insurance...

I'm posting this on behalf of my friend u/mintchocochipss . She isn't able to post in this sub maybe because she doesn't have enough karma and/or an account old enough account to post. Hi I'm 23F, I have recently bought a flat in Mumbai suburbs, it was in pretty bad shape so l decided to fix it up, the bare minimum like painting and very minimal civil work. My neighbor who is a renter (the man does not own the flat), he claims that my painting and small civil...

Shittiest place I have ever been to!

I visited this place and I could literally see rats running around near the oven! This place is surrounded by gutter on the backside and the worst part about this place is they accept only cash! No considerations. The food quality is below average. Dude I’ll get a 100 times better chai bun Maska at any local tapri. They’re looting in the name of vintage bakery. They serve in disposable plates and you are asked to empty the table in the middle of your meal. I think now I...

Need help buying a house in Ratnagiri

\*\*Posting this in Mumbai sub as there are a lot of people here who have first or second homes in Kokan. I have a remote job and now planning to buy a house. Initially the plan was Pune or Navi Mumbai but all I can see in these cities is construction everywhere, pollution and population issues. I don't mind the migration of people to these cities but the development speed is unable to keep up with it resulting in so many issues. Now I am leaning towards Ratnagiri as...

Tormented and Confused about how to deal with this situation.

So my elder brother has a lot of financial levity and has recently made huge promotions and making good income. My confusion begins is that we own a shop in 50/50 ownership and from the past 4 years he is running that shop and getting some rent out of it. For the past year and a half I have moved out and he is taking care of my parents back home but mind you financially my father gets a monthly pension of around ₹65K. I have my own struggles...

Why Do I Turn Into a Mess Around Pretty Girls? Need Advice!

Bear w me please Alright, so I (25M) have been noticing this weird thing about myself. Everyone’s “pretty radar” is different, right? Like, someone might find a girl stunning while another dude thinks she’s just okay. But for me, it doesn’t matter—if she lands anywhere on my radar of cute to drop-dead gorgeous, I turn into a complete mess. For context, I’ve had zero meaningful female interaction for a long while now (not by choice—life’s just been dry). So when I see a girl I find even remotely attractive,...

    Recent Trip to Mumbai

Here are some snapshots from my recent trip to Mumbai. Stayed in Colaba. The place is huge but it was very costly. Streets are beautiful, the vibes felt like what I feel in Kolkata. The buildings are beautiful but there’s not much cheap restaurants nearby. Got a single cafe which was quite cheap and it was beside our hotel. The hotel was alright. Overall it was nice. But all our cities are struggling from smog but couldn’t see the huge buildings properly.
