BDC stock : good investment ?? Hi, I've got some Blackstone stock (the company, not the secure lending because in france, we can't buy it). Since i bought it, i'have been losing money a lot. So i trie to find some BDC with good "reputation" and good financial reporting (i'm not a specialist). So i found three : \- FS KKR Capital stock : 11.81% of dividend, and 17.8% of growth in one year, that looks like very sexy. But, it's really hard to find a recommandation about this one. \- Maint Street Capital Corp... 4 0 replies
Ridiculous EU regulations are preventing me from trading ETFs in my InteractiveBrokers account. What should I do? It took so much wrangling to open a business account with IB, only to find out that they are restricting me from trading exchange traded funds. It turns out even though it has 30k in it, the account is still classified as retail. The (2 out of 3) requirements than need to be met in order to upgrade from Retail to Professional are: 1) To have made 10 trades in a single quarter at some point in the past year with value exceeding 200k euros. 2) To have 500k... 5 3 replies

I'VE PLAYED THESE GAMES BEFORE For context, writing has been my passion and I've been trading actively a little over 4 years now and counting. I've been profitable and now teaching and warning people around me. But this journey wasn't easy and I decided to write a book about it to warn others about the perils of trading. I am almost complete for the most part and looking for people to review and give feedback. Or better still, give me some ideas, especially those that unfortunately lost big (doesn't have to be financially). The... 1 1 replies
How I Made 30k Trading SPX Friday by Reading the Order Book The first thing I look at is price action. The rule I follow is: trade what you see, not what you can't see. Don't predict the market and trade level to level; the rest is noise. In Picture 1, you can see that we tested SPX 6150, came back down to test 6100, and broke down to test the 6080 area. If you look at the chart, you can see we left a gap at 6070; that's the area where buyers stepped in last time. We hadn't tested that... 4 2 replies
Learning about technical analysis Hi everyone, I've been developing an interest in finance and investing over recent years, starting with simple long-term investing (i.e. in passive index funds). I have a growing interest in trading and want to learn about reading charts and spotting patterns (for stocks and crypto assets). What would people here recommend? Are there any good beginners guides/books/courses to learn about technical analysis? Am I being naive and do I need to study this at degree / post-grad level? Keen to hear people's thoughts! Cheers! Can You Read The Studies? I'm new to trading and not quite good at it, so my apologies for sounding like an idiot. Based on these two charts, can you tell me what studies are at play here? Specifically those arrows on the right side pointing up and down, and that flag that goes from yellow to green. Also getting those numbers on the bottom of the candle sticks would be nice to know. https://preview.redd.it/5kayqcxfnpke1.png?width=391&format=png&auto=webp&s=91642260a5333db3511ff07341e29ebb83f60a90 https://preview.redd.it/kknbcdxfnpke1.png?width=387&format=png&auto=webp&s=91360abd7a2d7a76d583575989f8d3011e4f4d4a 5 2 replies
Market insight on BGB: is it even worth holding? I have been scouting for some coins to add to my portfolio for a while but i was able to find is just a few numbers of tokens. After a long search, i then decided to look back at some existing ones tracking their past performance to see if they are worth adding more. Starting from BGB the previous market stand looks good which made me join the BGBholders community to check on other market insights. I had to confirm to them that i held more than 10 bgb... 5 0 replies
Am I missing something it seems with prop firm challenges, it's ALWAYS better to pick the largest account size? Hey all, From the prop firm rules i've been reading, it seems when picking a challenge, it's always better to go for the largest account size (eg. 200,000$) because that guarantees better protection for the MAX LOSS and MAX DAILY LOSS From my understanding, the bigger the account size, the better your chances of passing and honestly looking at the smaller account sizes of 10K etc, I don't think anyone should be wasting their time on them but I've never worked with prop firms. So with a 200,000$ account,... 5 7 replies
Does any of you uses a trading strategy where you "always" move your SL to break even, even if gets triggered most of the time? Long time ago,I read a comment on a youtube video that was about "moving SL to BE or not?", and the comment said that he was doing well using a strategy where he always moved the SL to BE. He admitted that his trades were stopped very often, but when they were not stopped, he made good profits risking very little (fee and possibly slippage). What do you think about this strategy? 1 20 replies

S&P 500: Smart Money Stays Long Friday’s 1.7% drop in the S&P 500 had a lot of people questioning whether a bigger pullback is coming. But here’s what stood out - smart money didn’t flinch. We’ve seen this playbook before. Institutions sell at the right time and buy into early trends. And the latest data makes that clear - instead of cutting exposure during Friday’s sell-off, they actually increased their long positions. That suggests this decline might just be a short-lived breather - at least for now. Or is there more to the story? https://preview.redd.it/ffnvixy41pke1.png?width=1133&format=png&auto=webp&s=af99ba4e55737fb888c39ee0286d742b1da86c6c... 4 0 replies

my trading journey so far so i got to 6 payouts ($27k+) so far but recently ive been struggling with my trading in the first quarter of the year. Ive gotten 1 payout of $5800 in january this year and i dont think i can get another one in feb. i can find good setups easily but i guess my problem is that i dont take profits when i have to which results in my trade reversing and i get stopped out at breakeven or at a loss. These losses built up over time... 5 3 replies

Looking for like minded traders to discuss strategies It’s really hard to find like-minded traders these days ‘cause most people just follow influencers who hype up account flipping. It’d be great to find someone with the same hunger to become a long-term profitable trader. Right now, I’m trying out some new strategies that fit my style, a bit session-specific. I mainly trade GBP pairs and EUR/USD. I’m still a novice, but I have a pretty good understanding of the market. Anyone else on the same journey and wanna discuss it? 5 2 replies
