My domain name idea is similar to an existing website

So I spent a while thinking of a decent name. I landed on for example. reduxu where I will make websites for small businesses and startups but it's similar to, for example redex which is wayyy bigger than me and specializes in cybersecurity and room designing software which is completely different When I search reduxu it gets shafted by redex, will Google show my website when I publish mine and give it a title like (reduxu web designs) or should I brainstorm new ideas

Screaming Frog Not Showing All H2s

Hey there. I'm trying to run a report on blogs on my employer's site (about 4k). When I inspect the code, I see multiple H2s (sometimes multiple H1s, even...), but SF only shows one H1 and one H2. I've tried enabling rendered page screenshots as well, as that's the only other potential fix I've seen online. Thanks in advance.

What does good urls dropping in core web vitals (GSC) mean?

I am talking about the chart you find if you go GSC -> Core web vitals, and you see chart with your current urls. I have a lot of pages indexed (100k+) according to google. Problem is: the 'good urls' keeps dropping, it was 100k, it is now 10k, (poor urls / urls that need improvement are 0). I am unclear what does this actually mean. Is this something to be worried about or it is normal.

Traffic from image searches has been significantly dropped.

After the November core update, we are experiencing a 70% drop in image traffic. Are you experiencing the same issue? What can be the reason? I have initiated the addition of image metadata (IPDC) to recover it. Is it enough? How can I recover it?

Slowly I am leaving the digital marketing service providing market which is full of noises & stressful. I am focusing on my own online businesses instead & already seeing some success in it. Anyone doing the same thing?

View Organic Referral Traffic from Facebook

Hi Everyone, My client site sells products that help people with a specific medical condition. There are several Facebook "support" groups out there for people that suffer from this condition. We are in touch with a couple of them but we do not have any relationship with several others. Each of these groups will sometimes link to our website for information or to recommend a product, but all I can see in GA is Organic Social \[subdomain\].facebook.com / referral Is there anyway, either in GA or some other tool...

    December Google Core Update 2024

SEOs were still dealing with the November update when Google launched the December Core Update, catching everyone by surprise. With two updates so close, many people feel frustrated and unsure about what Google wants. The timing, right before the holidays, makes it harder for businesses to keep up. Even though it’s tough, these updates are meant to improve search results. The best thing to do is focus on creating helpful, high-quality content and adjust as needed. It’s all part of the ever-changing world of SEO.

SEO 101 Suggestions - where to start with DIY SEO?

I am starting an ERP/Accounting Software selection and implementation business. Inbound leads through online searches are important to my year 1 success - I have limited startup capital and while I might choose to spend it on the website + SEO, I would rather DIY it at the start. Having spent my career in accounting and software though SEO is a foreign language to me. I know there are tools to learn what ranks and how to optimize content but I don't know which tools are the best. I...

    Any good SEO communities

Hello SEO enthusiast I have a nice business website, kind of a blog, and a news website. I am developing that website every day. Now I am searching for good SEO communities, where I can connect with others freely. Don't get me wrong, that subreddit is excellent but I need a community that will be more for people who want to write about everyday achievements and their new knowledge about SEO. Thank you, Have a nice day

    External ranking criteria

    Honest Backlink Results

I work in the home improvement industry for local businesses and wanted to know if anyone else actually gets results from backlinks. My concern is that most backlink are not incredibly helpful unless it comes from a great source or has some referral potential. I have spent time analyzing current client links and most come from spam sources. AHrefs show historically that most client have lost a TON of backlinks, but my guess is that it's all spam that Google has recognized and gotten rid of. Despite losing such...

$1000 per month for being mentioned on drfive.com or doctify.com

Hey SEO folks, I built the web presence for a long time childhood friend of mine who’s just started his own medical practice, and he keeps getting approached by platforms like DrFive.com and Doctify.com. They are offering to include his practice on their platforms for somewhere between $500 and $1,000 per month. It's not really relevant, but just to give a background on what I did, what we have: * NextJS + Prismic, ca. 100+ pages (Articles, Health Library, Services, Diseases etc.), 3 languages * Google Analytics, Ads, Search...

Google Autocomplete Manipulation – Still a Thing?

Hey guys, I thought Google Autocomplete manipulation was dead, but it looks like my competitor is pulling it off. When I type my name/business, some shady suggestions pop up, and it’s clearly intentional. Is this still a thing in 2024? Are people still running it with proxies and bots? And any tips on how to fight back or flip it in my favor? Appreciate any insights from the community!

December update killed the site - Is it worth continuing to work on the blog?

Down to 300-400 impressions with around 10 clicks. Average position went from 18 to 56, is it worth adding more content to the blog and accept the fate and move on? It's an affiliate blog.

    Possibly a beginner question?

Sorry this may be an obvious answer - typically I do local service based business, this project for a friend and I is a bit out of my norm. I am Building a lead gen website - have a primary domain. I am purchasing 4 or 5 variations of said domain that target more specific areas of the general niche (automotive - more specific domains have keywords related to specific services). Better to have all redirect to primary domain, or build out multiple websites? It doesn't matter which "site"...
