Is it bad practice to have the main language in WordPress in English, but main target audience in is German? My WordPress website is available in 3 languages: English, German and Spanish. My main language at domain level is English. But my target audience changed with time. Now, I target mainly German-speaking people. But my DE language loads in a /de URL. Is this a problem regarding SEO best practices? I use Polylang, with setting to serve the language of the system/browser and language flags. However, in analytics, I see that many people from Germany are landing on English pages. Thanks for your help. Sebastian 4 0 replies

Underperforming Page - How to handle it? I work in commercial truck insurance - a niche space within P&C insurance. Competition is relatively low, but I am up against large insurance companies with high authority taking up space and competitor agencies with large marketing budgets. I've had pretty decent success, but I'm frustrated with one area. GEICO recently released their commercial trucking program and I rushed to publish a blog post about it to catch truckers looking into it as word spreads around the industry. The blog post is fairly comprehensive and touches on most subjects.... 2 0 replies
Backlinks & Directories New website and business owner of approximately 6 months. Trying to scale from 10th on the map pack to 1st. I’ve done some paid backlinking which is showing up as backlinks on Semrush. But all the directories i’ve signed up to including the indsutry directories aren’t showing in semrush as backlinks. Some of them are showing on google when i search my business name. This whole seo thing is so confusing just thinking about hiring someone… but would it even be worth it if i’ve already done heaps of... 4 0 replies
Proprietary GMB Profile Ranking Software? I worked for a large SEO agency for 2 years and have followed numerous accounts on twitter but never heard of anything like this before until the past couple months. There's a local SEO agency in my town with some proprietary software that drives rankings on GMB Map Pack (no clue what the software actually does) but I know the website that they're doing it on but can't seem to reverse engineer it. It actually is working really well for my buddy that's a plumber and is using this... 2 0 replies
Reputable directory posters Hi all I use a SEO research tool and we seem to be being out ranked by our competitors purely on the number of back links they have to site. I have previously gained some decent back links with good DA but think it’s now worth trying a scatter gun approach. Can anyone suggest a service that will add our business listing to 100+ listings at a decent price? Thanks 1 0 replies
Ranking #1 for targeted keywords - Stick with SEO or not? Hello everyone, I’m reaching out to see if anyone has been in a similar position. I run [**mortgagebrokerwebsite.com.au**](http://mortgagebrokerwebsite.com.au), a website that generates leads from mortgage brokers looking for professional websites. It’s a highly profitable business, bringing in \~9 leads per week with a 30% lead-to-sale conversion rate – and I’ve achieved all of this using SEO as my sole marketing channel. If you look at the underlying data and potential traffic, the volume is quite low for the keywords that I am targeting and I already rank first for... 4 0 replies

How to see gauge of AI Overview? Edit: Sorry, meant to write 'gauge impact' in the title I'm new here. I've run an informational site related to a popular IP/Franchise for several years now, and this year has had the strangest traffic development I've ever seen, with a \~50% drop in both organic search and direct traffic, all in a few months. I know that this is the year that AI Overview started rolling out widely, and I'm trying to gauge if there's some way to see just how much traffic for some of the keywords... 3 0 replies

How I Grew My Startup Directory to DR 22 in 2 Months by Helping Indie Makers (No BS Strategy) Hey everyone! Wanted to share a simple strategy that helped me grow my new site to DR 22 in about 2 months. I run Disrupt500, where we showcase cool startups and products from indie makers and solopreneurs. Instead of trying the usual link building tactics, I came up with something pretty straightforward: I look for interesting products and reach out to founders with a simple pitch - I'll feature their product on my site for free, create quality content about what they're building, and in return, I ask if... 5 0 replies
Infinite scroll on blog posts - bad for SEO/causes duplicate content? Here's the scenario...a client wants to implement infinite scroll on blog posts. The way they developed their new blog post template shows a "related" article fully loaded right below the main article, and another article fully displayed below that, and so on. My thought is that this is not good for SEO. ***Does this setup mean Google will count all the additional articles' content below the main article as part of the main blog article's content, too?*** *And therefore:* *A. Dilute the main blog article's content/KW density because now... 5 0 replies
