    Scamadviser issue

A competitor has been attempting to damage my small business by posting negative reviews on Scamadviser.com. Despite having seven negative reviews and no positive reviews of them, they still have a Trust score of 100. However, they posted a single negative review about my store, which immediately reduced my Trust score to 90. Why this might have happened ? I understand that i shouldn't do this ideally, but I feel compelled to fight for my business’s survival. Could you please advise me on how I can post their review...

A deep dive into technical SEO for developer tools - Our unexpected learnings

Our Team spent the last 4 months deep in technical SEO for developer documentation, and it's fascinating how different it is from traditional SEO. Wanted to share some unexpected findings. The Biggest Surprises: 1. Developer Search Patterns We analyzed thousands of searches and found developers rarely use traditional search patterns. Instead of "how to X," they search for: - Exact error messages - Function signatures - Package combinations - Version-specific issues Example: "TypeError: Cannot read property 'data' of undefined react-query typescript" Not: "How to fix react-query undefined error" 2....

Has your site also been affected by the December 2024 spam update?

Guys, I don't know what Google is playing at. I've been working on an NBA media web project for over 2 years. I launched the site just over a year ago. Since the end of this summer, we've been producing around 5-10 quality articles a day (news, game recaps, analysis, history, rumors...). We've managed to gradually increase our traffic and we're getting more and more clicks, with a peak on December 19. However, since December 20, we've had nothing. On Google Search, impressions and clicks have dropped considerably. I've...

Why does Google still crawl the penalized websites?

Topic says. I have a website that got penalized in December's Update. Penalty was fully legit and I don't complaint about that. I was using AI-generated content a lot because site was not in the priority. My question is - why Google still continue crawl the website? Does it mean there is a hope that website can recover? Or I don't need even think about to try to recovery it?

Improperly implemented rich snippet and potential Google penalty

Have you encountered a penalty for an improperly implemented rich snippet? The case: an online store (https://harmonystore.pl) with a company rating widget (global) in the footer. The schema with the rating is identical on every subpage. Every indexed subpage displays the same star rating. Could such implementation be considered spam (in light of the recent December Spam Update - this store has been penalized and has almost no impressions since 20th Dec)?

Can my Image Optimization Process be improved?

Hey, here's what I'm currently doing, but I'm looking forward to any feedback on how I might improve the process even more: 1. Design a Blog Image in Figma following our Brand Guidelines and Export it in the “WebP” format by using the following plugin with the image size that is 2x bigger than the display size. 1. I’m keeping in mind that “WebP” is supported on 97.17% browsers, and not 100%. 2. Using Compressor for Lossy compression 1. I'm keeping in mind that I’m slightly losing on image quality but improving performance. 3....

Is a paid plugin the best option for an affordable SEO boost or would I be better off having my host do the SEO or a private company?

Sorry in advance if this is a really basic question, but I made and managed a website for a relative and their SEO is not too great. We've currently been using the free version of Yoast SEO but lately I've been wondering if the paid version is worth the money or if we'd be better off adding the DreamHost SEO toolkit (our host) for $5 a month? Or a different approach? The DreamHost SEO toolkit says this: Improve your search engine rankings and drive more customers to your website...

97.9K pages indexed. Is this too much?

I made a website that gathers the main contests and hackathons of different categories to ease the process of finding them. I thought positioning my site for keywords like "\[category\] contests & hackathons in \[city\]" would be a great idea. However there are lots of categories and cities so the combination of both resulted in thousands of pages being generated. Is this a good idea or will it have unexpected results?

    Siteground blocking Ahrefs crawl bots?

Have any other Siteground/Ahrefs customers here seen this? Just last week all the sites I host at Siteground started showing 202 errors on Ahrefs reports. Google sees the pages just fine and both SemRush and Screaming Frog do not report any problems. I contacted Ahrefs support. They replied very quickly but did not see any problems from their end, suggesting the I may have some setting on my site blocking access. (I checked and so not.) I also contacted Siteground support who also replied very quickly. After they looked...

SEO Keyword Help: How Do You Structure and Target Them?

Hi everyone! I’m trying to get better at SEO and have a few questions about keyword usage: 1. **How do you structure keywords in titles?** * Should it be something like `Keyword | Company Name` or `Service | Keyword | Company Name`? * When is it better to use `|` versus `-`, and does it even matter for SEO? * What would you also say is the best title tag structure or more like, the standard? 2. **Targeting keywords:** * Do keywords need to be an **exact match**, or...

Too much text stuffed with keywords

Currently I am consulting a client with a new domain for holiday rentals. As I am aware that new domains tend to rank slower compared to older ones, the content I am working on has a lot of text which IMO is too much. Am I right that too much content is not always the right approach especially if the text is stuffed with keywords?

Strange behavior of the site after December Core Update (Impressions stayed the same - Clicks dropped)

Right after Google rolled out December Update, my analytics started acting strange - what is happening is that my clicks (traffic) fell for nearly 50% but impressions and overall ranking stayed the same (as I can see on Ahrefs as well). Ranking actually is improving steadily (as it was before the google hit). That just doesn't make sense to me. Ill post the picture of the stats showing this in comments. If I didn't lose any ranking and impressions, how come I lost half of my traffic? Can somebody...

I need help with the SEO pricing

Is it too much to charge $3,000 for building a Shopify store (websites as huge as having an entire ingredient directory, 500+ pages) and then another $1,200 a month for SEO? I have had great success with organically growing Shopify store and boosting sales as much as 465% in 7 months while ranking several of my clients' store on the first page (over time) for some keywords with 3x - 5x traffic. I have seen agencies charging $10,000+ for the same. Is it really too much to ask even...

    Sketchy backlinks appearing in SEMRush

Hi all, I’m by no means an SEO expert. I’m a bathroom fitter and have recently built a website in the hopes of getting to the top of google for “bathroom fitters” in my local area. I’ve been signing my business details up to some directories which have a good DA (according to keywords everywhere) and linked my website to a free version of SEM Rush to keep track. When I click on the SEM back links report, there appears to be some “suspicious” or “dangerous” backlinks appearing with...

Never came across this indexing issue

I’ve been running a website since October 2023 and everything was fine. Until on October this year I decided to transfer the domain authority to my name and shift the hosting to the one purchased by me. Furthermore, I changed the theme of the website and along with it updated several of its articles to increase the word count. And when I checked again on Google only the home page and a tag page is indexed rest are not. Did everything I could and everything looks fine but Google...
