Has there been any time period where Panjab was in a good place, socially and economically? (For both east and west after the partition)

I live in Jalandhar, And to to be completely honest, I've seen my city turn into an absolute chaos. There is a tiny increase in certain projects but those are there to just feed the bellies of the rich.
