Something needs to be done!! Air pollution is becoming a norm in india and also in northeastern states. Lack of proper sustainable planning and government not looking forward to sustainable development and also the people. Even big cities like New York city so called “concrete jungle” which probably has less forest cover then us the only green thing there is Central Park and other small parks, has much better air quality than us. You, me, we all are breathing this air right now and an AQI of such levels over a long period of... 3 0 replies
How to differentiate between a bangladeshi and an assamese? I'm from Kerala and today I met a guy who is working as a staff in a restaurant, I started having a conversation and found out he's muslim and he's from Assam. I started conversing in assamese (learnt from my friends) and turns out he doesn't know the language. He doesn't even look like a northeasterner he looks more like he's from West Bengal. I want to know is there a way we can find out if he's an assamese? Should I contact the authorities and what will happen... 1 0 replies
Indigenous northeast people, you must aware of the snakes🐍 you are living with. Northeastern people especially my tibeto burmese bros, as u guys already noticed that this sub is very much critical about some of the objectionable views mainlanders have about us. But it seems like before being critical and vocal about mainlander affairs, we need to look at some of the snakes🐍 we indigenous people are living with inside northeast. Remember before outsiders bring any harm to northeast, these snakes🐍 would be the first ones to bite. Pic attached showcases a guy abusing northeastern tribes as "'Squinty eyed Tribals"". These mfker... 4 11 replies

What's your opinion? Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the concept of "Adibasi" in the context of Assam. We know that the tea tribe communities in Assam were brought by the British to work in the tea gardens, and they often refer to themselves as Adibasi. While they are indeed Adivasi in the broader Indian context, I feel it is not accurate to use the term "Adibasi" for the tea tribe communities specifically in the context of Assam. The term "Adibasi" means the first settlers or original inhabitants of a region.... 3 3 replies
