Removing Password I’ve recently updated to Sequoia and I am also reviewing for my licensure exam. The notes that they have been giving has a password in which I know the password myself. Back in Big Sur, I was able to remove password by saving it as another file unchecking the encrypt option thus removing the password. Now in Sequoia, I can’t do it anymore. Pls teach me how. Preventing my Mac Sequoia from updating to 15.2 Hi, I need to avoid the Mac Sequoia 15.2 upgrade due to incompatible software on my Mac. I have attempted to stop mac from updating in the System settings but it seems that there is a slight bug and the system ignores the request not to update. Does using a docking station affect battery condition? The title. I am using a docking station with my M3 Macbook, and I am concerned that using it plugged all the time will affect the battery condition. Does anybody has experience and advice on what to do. After seeing that it was using over 3 TB on the NAS, I decided to have a look and set a quota (tmutil setquota) to just 2 TB and... now it hasn't worked for 3 weeks. "*Unknown error*" is not helpful. Why is Safari 18.2 included with the Sequoia 15.2 update but as a seperate update on Sonoma 14.7.2 update ? It seems Safari is always provided as a separate update on the 2 previous supported macOS version, while the most recent has it included in its update. Writing tools - no arrows to review each change one by one Writing tools work as expected in Notes and appear to be quite useful, with proofreading being the most useful to me. However, in most other apps I use, there are no arrows to review each proofreading change one by one and no UI element indicating what changes have been made. This essentially makes writing tools fairly useless outside of Notes, as ‘all are nothing’ blind changes are not usable when reviewing text. Is this the same for everyone? Is it a bug on my devices? Are macport dependencies for a port, potentially fulfilled by dependencies of past ports ? As someone new to MacOS and new to macports, I am yet to fully grasp how macports works. I come from Linux world, where packages are binaries and their dependencies, s.a. shared libraries are also available in prebuilt form, that are pulled from centralized repositories based on what is is declared by package builder as requirement, some fulfilled by binaries and libraries that are already installed, and anything missing is pulled from the repository. Does blocking a phone number in iMessage on macOS also block on iphone? My address book is iCloud and I use imessage on mac and iphone. Image Playground is hot garbage I cannot believe that they bothered to release this. What were Apple designers thinking? How did this get approved for launch? This is literally the worst image generator ever. Everything it makes looks the same. It's like Memoji in 3D except worse. MacBook Air 2011 stuck on update. Receiving “cannot update MacOS” I tried downloading High Sierra from El Capitan and my computer had to shut down and restart and download and install the update. Well now I keep getting a message saying it cannot update MacOS and the only option I have is to restart my laptop and it's just in a constant loop. Parallels PVMP File Error I am receiving an error trying to open up a Parallels Windows 10 machine that I "packaged" up to transfer but ultimately did not go through with it. It is still sitting on my 2019 Intel MBP 16" where it originally was located however any attempt to open it results in an error that says "The configuration file you specified is invalid" The check sum in terminal aligns with the txt file generated with the packaging process so I am at a loss on how to uncompress this. Help me not hate Apple for obsoleting a perfectly good MacPro (2013) by ending updates. < rant > I'm sitting at my desk kinda ticked off at the moment. My daily driver is a perfectly good MacPro (2013, Xeon, R2D2, Trashcan). 12-core Xeon, 64GB of RAM, FirePro graphics, healthy and happy. Except...Apple decided to cap this platform at Monterey. No updates beyond Monterey. Not just MacOS, they cap support for XCode at <v14, which is required for some homebrew implementations. AI in Photos doesn't seem to be working Today I upgraded to 15.2 and immediately enabled AI in Settings, with the language set to English (US). I can use AI across most sections, but what I really wanted was to use it in Photos. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. Not only is AI-powered search not functioning, but even basic searches (e.g., for objects like cars or dogs) no longer work. How can I check if Photos is indexing in the background? Command key stops working on 15.2? Anyone else experiencing this? Keyboard shortcuts like command-N, command-T stop working periodically, in all apps, until I click somewhere or switch windows.
