Dangerous to Backup with Time Machine if external drive has file structure issues? I have a partitioned external drive that I've been using since 2019. Occasionally and recently I've been experiencing issues with mounting/unmounting the volumes. I'm unable to carry out first aid through Disk Utility for one of the volumes, getting the "File system verify or repair failed. : (-69845)" error. I've been regularly backing up the drive to another external Time Machine drive. Given recent erratic behaviour on my partitioned ExHD, my instinct is to back it up as I normally would. How to show newer unicode characters in macOS? For instance, ▎(Left One Quarter Block, [U+258E](https://www.compart.com/en/unicode/U+258E)) can be shown in macOS but not 🮇 (Right One Quarter Block, [U+1FB87](https://www.compart.com/en/unicode/U+1FB87)), not even in the Character Viewer. External HDMI display issue (Ventura and Sonoma) Hey all, I don't know if this affects everyone but we are updating some 2019 Mac Pros at work and the HDMI output now seems to have lost the ability to actually change resolutions. The options are there, but changing them doesn't actually seem to change the output resolution and the resolution seems fixed on the maximum supported resolution of the connected device. Mac touchscreens: Dell P2424HT or ViewSonic vTouch? Looking for a Mac touchscreen, primarily to use for controlling (non-Logic) audio software. It appears that TouchBase is the successful driver company for this, and were hired by Dell to do drivers for the P2424HT. Additionally it looks like ViewSonic offers vTouch drivers across multiple products. It's unclear if those are also by TouchBase. The MacBook detects the monitor and behaves as though it’s connected (e.g., I can move the cursor to the external display), but the monitor remains in standby mode, with its power light staying orange (it should turn white when active). No Options to Resize Font on External Display I just set up my MacBook Pro (M1 chip, Ventura 13.0.1) with a new external monitor (27", 2560x1440), and am finding that the text is too small for me at the native resolution. I can zoom in on many apps, but this doesn't help things like UI. Stop the 'Turn On Reactions' popup from appearing every time? I'm on macOS 15.2 and every time I open Zoom or Google Meet the 'Turn on Reactions' pop up appears. Smart Folders - Is there a way to combine criteria (boolean)? I'll give a simple example: I want to create a Smart Folder that contains both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator files created in the last month. When I select "kind" as a criteria and choose "other" I can only have one file extension type. An if add another "kind", it is not additive, only subtractive.
