Went on a short trip to Kerala and it's one of the best experience I have ever had I am from north and this was my second time here. I have been to Munnar, Athirapally, Varkala, Trivandrum, Kochi and Alappuzha. First of all I love Lulu mall, trivandrum one, it's a bit crowded, yes but it's amazing. Everything was just so perfect, people are so nice, the food omg, even though I am a vegetarian, I had no trouble finding veg options and the Kerala cuisine is just the best. I miss the matta rice so much here. The views were breathtaking. Best part, people don't honk... 5 6 replies

Have people lost sense on how to act while shopping? I had gone to zudio recently to purchase some clothes and I saw a huge crowd in front of the beauty section. Out of curiosity I went there to only see women of all ages trying out lipsticks, nail polishes and tints. All this was fine until I saw some group of girls opening a new packet of lip glosses (which is not a tester- tester was available separately) and applied it and just left. Similarly i saw kids applying new nail polishes (again not a tester) and not... 2 6 replies

Idukki Cocoa in Porto’s Chocolate Museum – What’s the Story Behind This Unique Chocolate? While visiting the Chocolate History Museum in Porto, I stumbled upon this fascinating chocolate bar – a 71% dark chocolate made from organic cocoa grown in Idukki, Kerala. It's labeled as “La Féverie,” a French artisanal chocolate brand, and was crafted from bean to bar in Bordeaux. It’s amazing to see a Kerala-origin product highlighted in such a prestigious setting! However, two things caught my attention: 1. The **monkey illustration** on the packaging. Is there a deeper connection between monkeys and Idukki’s cocoa plantations? Or is this just an... 1 1 replies
MBBS/BDS Admission advice I would appreciate some advice for a relative. He is just completing +2 in Kerala now. He is appearing for NEET but honestly has very less chances of making it. His parents are willing to get a paid seat, but they have very less knowledge about the admission process. I did some research, but it seems that to get even a payment seat, you need a good NEET score. Can anyone pls advice on what is the best step for him. How can he get into a management seat?... 4 1 replies
Close Call with a Dog on My Daily Commute: Why Do Dogs Suddenly Attack? Today, I was driving to Calicut town and decided to take the shortcut to avoid traffic. As I was driving uphill, a dog suddenly jumped at me. I nearly fell over to the side, but I managed to control the handle of the bike, even though I was screaming. The only reason I came out of that situation unharmed was because I was able to maintain control. I could have fallen into a 50-foot downhill and possibly messed up my life because a dog just jumped at me. I... 3 1 replies

How do Gulf returnees typically adapt to life in Kerala, and what career or lifestyle choices do they tend to pursue? During my recent trip to Kerala, I noticed a surge of supermarkets springing up around our neighborhood. It got me thinking—what do Gulf returnees or NRIs who choose to settle down and retire in Kerala usually pursue? Malayalees have a well-earned reputation for being enterprising, and I’m genuinely curious to know how they channel that entrepreneurial spirit after returning home. Does anyone have insights or experiences to share? 5 4 replies
