IT guy with a passion for the sea—how can I experience sailor life without quitting my job?

I was always facinated about the sea and the sailor life. since i have a full time job in IT(chose out of passion), it is not possible to switch careers. There should be another way of experiencing the sea life. i was thinking maybe i would buy a small விசைப்படகு(powerboatd) and lease it out or smth but ig for that i should have been born as a fishermen or have any remotely connections. please share ideas/opinions on how i can make it a reality.

Hey, I'm 18F. I'm planning to travel to chennai in the upcoming months, and I'd preferably like to stay around Sathyabama University. What are some good, not too over the top hotels to stay at?
