My dad and alot of people earn 50k and I wonder how could someone not cross the 1 LPM mark at 50+

I'm talking about the lower middle class folks whose parents earn less than 50k even in this inflated economy and that too liable for some 20,25k emis. I wonder how could it be true even with experience of 25,30 years. We as their child have to suffer as majority of families are middle/upper middle class with alot of generational as well as parental wealth and here I am with nothing there to my name and a degree from local college (where placements ain't even a thing). I feel inferior...

Why are there 2.0 million Indians in Myanmar?

I can understand why there are many Indians in the Americas, Europe, Oceania, and the Gulf countries. But why are there 2 million Indians in Myanmar? It’s a poor country, and I can’t see any major economic benefits there.

I will be turning 18 in a few months and i still have zero idea on the political scene of india

(Disclaimer: this is in no way asking "who do I vote for?" ! Just looking for resources that can help me make an informed opinion) so yeah, title basically. I find it sad that i (and many of my peers as well) will be of voting age in some time and yet we have no clear idea about our political ideologies. Most of my family is right leaning but i definitely don't wanna vote for someone because my parents are voting for them. Lol what are some books/ YouTube...

What can I Pursue after 14 years of working in PSB Bank

36 F, working as a scale 3 officer in a public sector bank. Worked across Credit, Branch management, Retail etc., in short - except Forex and Treasury, 14 years of banking made me jack of all trades but master of none. I am trying to quit my job but not sure if I would get a better opportunity elsewhere. My self confidence is at ultimate low especially after frequent performance review meetings. It's not that I am not performing, it's just that no matter what I do, how many...

Dealing with family expectations and double standards

I’m 21 F, in my final year of college, and I’ve always done everything my family expected from me. I was a topper in school, excelled in extracurriculars, and got into a great college with a top 0.1% JEE rank. I thought once I made it to college, the pressure would ease, but it only got worse. Since day one, my family has been pushing this narrative: “Get a 40 LPA job and then prepare for UPSC.” I don’t even want to do UPSC, but they don’t care. Recently,...

Would you say India is getting better or worse? Is Indian immigration going to continue to rise?

First of all, I'm Indian American. I know there is a lot of negativity on Reddit, but I am wondering how optimistic or pessimistic the situation is there in real life. It seems like Indians are taking any chance to leave the country, and are often going to other developed countries with very little social graces... Even the "best of the best," the H1B visa workers are often not actually qualified to do the job, and there are many complaints about their work quality and ethic. So naturally, India...

List all the schools where you studied.

Being an Army child, I studied in many schools across the country. Often people say you got to visit so many places, and I'm not denying that. But one major problem of moving around so much is that one doesn't have a childhood friend—someone who has grown up with you. For me, it was always a new bunch of faces every year or so. Leaving that aside, I'm extremely grateful to have visited all states as an Army brat. (until a few were split) List out all the places...

I asked my online friend if she'd like to come play cricket with my friends. Is it weird to ask her this?

For context, we met on Reddit during this year's admission season and live in the same city but in different suburbs. We've been talking for the past 5–6 months and used to chat almost daily during July, August, and September and still talk oftenly. We've revealed our faces, exchanged numbers, and I met her once IRL at her college. She's often expressed her interest in cricket, and we often talk about India's matches. So today, I casually invited her to join us for a game. Does it seem awkward...
