This letter saved me. I had just applied for a Mt. Gox account and it took a couple weeks. I tried to contact them to see what was taking so long but no reply. So I decided that if they could not be bothered with validating my account I would get BTC elsewhere.

Then the letter came. Not to me of course, but to all the valid account holders. Had they done their job initially, I would have lost my very first foray into BTC and most likely would have chalked all of crypto up to a huge scam. Instead I have been hodling ever since because I found a different source.
