Not that good. People are dismissive about local startups because we hvnt seen any successful local startup that has some direct impact on people. Social stigma is still there. People are more job oriented and business is seen as a last resort for failures. People invest all their savings into just an idea with a lot of assumptions that r not backed by real information. also, people readily invest in anything that seems profitable and easy to start from outside. First PCO then restaurants, uber and latest is blinkit darkstores.

Funding is also a problem. There are institutions like StartupAssam and some govt grants but they hardly reach real game changers. They r entangled in politics. Bootstrapping is also tough because there r not many rich people ready to invest.

But things are changing. Most of the startups are by first generation entrepreneurs who lack experience and knowledge. We will need more failures as of now to learn more n be successful in the future. There are a few successful startups from Assam but not that mainstream. Ig atomberg fan is by an Assamese. Ig a very hopeful and good days r coming for entrepreneurs in Assam.
