    Gotta go incrementally or you won’t get the required bios updates and the system may have issues.

    I personally had this problem on my 27” 2019 iMac. Sequoia was unstable with the Monterey firmware, fine after the updates. Also my 2017 MacBook Pro, sleep/power on/reset got screwed up by going straight from Sierra to Monterey.

    I’ve also seen it on clients computers, a 2009 iMac comes to mind which could not update past the High Sierra firmware and Catalina never worked right as a result.

    since 10.13 or so macOS has had an immutable root which is image based and atomically upgraded, for the most part. Because of this there's really not much benefit to sequential upgrades any more, you can just jump to 15 if you want.

    windows does pixel perfect scaling of 1440p at 125%

    it should defiantly look crispier and sharper, you might just prefer the look of macos fonts and lack of rainbow artefacts (no sub pixel anti aliasing on mac anymore)
