Thats a good decision I suppose, but it won't matter in the long run. Because state boards are independent of CBSE, and give significantly easier papers for boards. If CBSE decides to increase paper toughness, it won't change the problem of marks inflation caused because of competitive exams.

Back in the 80s, BITS Pilani used to take students through board marks. This practice only ended because some of the state boards, especially those in the south like AP board started giving easier questions and lowered grading standards to ensure more students could get into these types of colleges.
